View Full Version : Violent Players

All of a sudden, my team seem to have become homicidal thugs. I've had a (different) player sent off in 5 of the last 6 matches, 4 of them for head-butting, and usually when the play is nowhere near. Two of these have come in the first 10 minutes of the match, before you'd think they'd had time to build up such anger.

Why is this suddenly happening, and how do I stop it? I choose hard tackling (unless it's a harsh ref) but I don't tell them to head butt and leave us with 10 men every week.

Any ideas?

Do you fine them for violent behaviour? Let them get away with it and they'll always do it.

I always fine them in accordance with their ban. If its 2 matches i usually just give them a warning... if its more then i fine them.

In some foreign leagues, Dutch being an example that comes to mind, if a player gets sent off for violent behaviour he faces a further ban from the FA... sometimes 11 matches

Oh, and this is my 1000th post, whoopee.

I've just bought Richard Rufus (it was difficult, I assure you) and he got sent off in two consectutive games. I fined him the first time 1 wks wages, and the second time 2wks. He got into a strop and wanted to leave. I put him into the reserves for 3 weeks and he decided to stay - and playing really well....I've just beaten Liverpool 3-0 at SP.

Unlike the rest of you who seem to be really good at the game, it was a real achievement. Especially seeing as I've been at the bottom of the premiership for most of the season !
