View Full Version : More Potential?

Something really annoys me. Players getting upset because they feel "the team has more potential than its showing".

I am Barcelona, now in the second season. In the first season i won the League, Cup and Champions League with ease.

I have signed the following players:

Andriy Shevchenko, £30m. 43 goals in 63 games.
Arjan Robben, £2.5m. 16 yr old, scored 4 goals in 13 games.
Juan Roman Riquelme, £22.5m. 17 assists in 31 games.
Ivan Helguera, £12m
Christian Vieri, £40.5m . 13 goals in 27 games.
David Beckham, £30m. 11 assists in 18 games, and
Alessandro Nesta, £25m.

Add them too Kluivert, Rivaldo, Overmars, Patrik Andersson, Philippe Christanval and Dani and we have a top draw squad. The outlay is immense, but i have gained something like £76m from Season 2 Season ticket sales and Gate receipts from Season 1 and 2, so however much i spend i get it back with a lot more.

The reason they got upset was because i was 3rd in the league, 2 points off top spot with 2 games in hand !!!! It's because of the Super Cup and the Spanish version of the Charity Shield having to be played and meaning my games get re-arranged.

How much more potential can i show?! 3 trophies in my first season, 2 by October in my second... should i build a church or a statue of the president?! Maybe that'd make them happier !!!!

Also, their unhappiness disappears as soon as i reach 2nd or 1st place. It is stupid sometimes.

Oh, and Kluivert got a 9 match ban for headbutting someone. Haha.

Daniel,

I suggest you switch from Barcelona to Northampton. No-one - players, Chairman, fans - expects anything of you.

Which is just as well.........

Sounds alright. But i am only running Spain and Argentina.

The only way to change their minds I've found is to start doing really badly (but not enough to get sacked), then do well again. They all shut up a little after that.

The other only way is to give a high profile player a free transfer or sell him for a low amount - the others wonder about their future then and don't care so much about the performance

When you're testing with SI can you get them to change the "feature" where players don't seem to realise they have games in hand?

Dunno, but they do realise they have games in hand in real life, don't they? They might not see the league position and care so much when they have games in hand.

But, say i had played 7 league games and the teams above me had played 11 but i was still in a reasonable position the players don't get annoyed.
