I believe that because we can’t agree a price with the saints, we are now trying to get him on loan.

I also heard that Beattie was staying in London this evening and was due for talks with Palace tomorrow in an attempt to complete the signing in time for Saturday's game.

I'm beginning to think he will sign. Despite what Southampton are alleged to have said about wanting to keep him, I think that the fact that he is on the bench whilst Uwe Rosler is in the team tells you all you need to know about what they really think of him.

I've also heard that he will be in talks today as he is in london.
Also, maybe consider that if he is an average Premiership striker, wont he do pretty well going down to Div 1?
(Or am I just hoping??!!!)

Whether he's good or bad I am quite excited we're actually buying someone for £3 million.
How times have changed!
Is this a club record ?

A club record? For Beattie? Did anyone see Dave's posting on the memory lane section (dont ask me why) about how Beattie said he'd rather be a reserve in the premiership than a first team player in the first division? So what if he has to be a reserve in the first division then?

Blimey, never thought of it like that Andy.
Now you mention it. Palace spending £3M on a player. Cool.
Shame It's Beattie. Surely for that sort of money we could buy someone better...
