Hidden attributes of players?

Being quite new to the CM game I've read that every player in it has a set of 'hidden' attributes (or lack of them) that you cannot get to see in normal play. I've also read on the various CM forums that it is actually possible to see if a player who on the face of it seems good news, is really a right R.Sole. Can somebody tell me how you get to view the hidden qualities screen please?
