From CPFRIS:

"DUNCAN MCARTHUR ON TRIAL WITH PALACE
************************************

Former West Bromwich Albion junior Duncan McArthur has been offered
a trial at Crystal Palace. McArthur who was released from West Brom
in mysterious circumstances at the end of the season before last
made three substitute appearances for Albion before being released
for disciplinary reasons. His crime was never specified. Last
season and the early part of this McArthur has looked well above
the standard he is playing at in Hastings, so that it was no
surprise either when league clubs started to scout him. Now comes
news that Palace have invited him for a trial and he'll be heading
to Selhurst Park as soon as it can be arranged. Hastings manager
Dean White said:

"Duncan has been a silly boy in the past but he has matured. He
has the ability to play at any level he wants, even Premiership.
But it's up to him to show he wants it."

So - what's he like, and more to the point, what did he do???

Hastings town, my home town club.

They are terrible, no really, painfully bad...

Cheap beer though and I used to work in the tea bar so I got to see the games for free http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

If he is ex Brighton, and his crime was something which got him banished for good, I sense a Palace hero in the making...

Took a dump in the manager's office/ portacabin?

Left a pig's carcass in a team mate's bed?

Wired up the pier with explosives?

Shagged the chairman's wife?

Naaahh probably just something boring...

Maybe they got rid of him because the fans didn't like him...ie he is straight?

This appeared in the Hastings Observer last Friday(8th Sept).

Duncan McArthur is on course for a return to professional football after attracting serious interest from Nationwide division one side Crystal Palace.
The talented midfielder fell out of favour at Brighton last year but his superb form for Hastings Town has earned him a second chance.
The 19 year old was due to play a friendly for the south London club yesterday although that has now been postponed.
"I`ve always said it`ll be a terrible shame if Duncan didn`t become a professional footballer", town manager Dean White said."and it looks like he`s going to get the chance now & hopefulley it`ll work out for him." "It`s good for me to see someone like Duncan who I`ve always praised.I`ve taken a bit of stick over some of the things he`s done & so has he,but there`s no doubting his ability."
"I`ll be devastated to lose him but it`s fantastic for the club to have had someone like him.Duncan can play as high as he wants to play in my opinion. It`s all down to him"

Repeatedly poor discipline could still include nipping round for a quick knee trembler with the chairman's wife...
