Can i first apologise to anyone who thought this thread was inside info on a new signing, it isn't. Ive just, though, had a brilliant thought on who we should purchase. the perfect partner for Clinton, big, good at holding up the ball, premiership player, good left foot, only problem is i think he plays regularly-Dean Windass

We've got Kitson now anyway so no worries!

how about trying for Kennet Anderson again????? Tall and good in the air, and does not bear any likeness to the other Swede we all remember

Have to agree with Alan here.

The biggest reason for not wanting Windass in my book is his discipline. He always used to be in the papers up here for all the wrong reasons during his time at Aberdeen.

On one occasion at Dundee United he managed to accumulate three red cards during one game (one for the offence, two for verbal abuse towards the referee) and was banned for five games.

Can be useful with free kicks but overall I wouldn't rate him.

well, we dont seem to have anyone else with that battling attitude up front. we need a strong battler leading the front line.

What about Shuan Goater from Man City. He scored bags of goals last year and is no longer 1st choice. I wonder how much he would cost?

I'm certainly happy to give Kitson a chance to prove himself and there's a good chance we won't be dissapointed. However Goater would be a good signing, Shipps is definetely too expensive at 3million and Windass is not going to want to leave a Premiership club, surely. It's just a thought, but if our trouble with having a lack of muscle up front continues why now try Fan Zhyi up front with Morrison? Fan seems to have the physical presence required and fights for everything.

If you're looking for big lumps to play up front then go for Dele Adebola who is on the transfer list at brum.

Shaun Goater, bagged a load of goals the year Bristol City went down (around 23 I think)
But would he move from the Prem to Div 1, baring in mind that Weah is not gonna last forever.

Does anyone know how old Goater is?

I think there are worse people out there than him.

Feed the goat and he will score!!!

It's another wonderful Crystal Palace goal, Clive Tyldsley Palace 4-1 Wolves 1995!!!!

Isn't one of the reasons Goater has fallen out of favour at Man City because of the amount of playing time he is missing due to World Cup qualifiers with Bermuda?

Excuse me if I've got that wrong, but I thought I had heard that somewhere.

Anyway, we could certainly do without that. Unfortunately it is already enough of a problem with Fan.
