We won't be able to buy him while he's on loan to Birmingham, so the only chance we will have is if Birmingham don't sign him permanently at the end of his loan spell. If they decide not to, wouldn't we be worried as to why they didn't?

Useful, quick, good touch and a decent left-footed shot. Would definitely be a useful acquisition.

I don't blame him for being disillusioned at Celtic - for goodness sake they even pick Tommy Johnson ahead of him!

Can he really be that good if he's available for just that amount and goes to B'ham on loan ?

I think Celtic want him as a squad player - Uefa cup commitments etc - but like Jansen he wants regular first team football, which is why they are off loading him cheaply. There's no point hanging onto a player who wants to leave, it's bad for morale.

1) If Beattie/Shipperly/Forsell are being quoted at 3 million then 1.5 million isn't much, maybe they don't rate him that highly.

2) Sutton looks good in the Scottish league!

Then why did he have to go to non league football to get a game?

Been loaned to Birmingham for 3 months with a view to a permanent move for about £1.5 million.

He is a regular scorer for Celtic (on Ceefax as a top scorer in the scottish prem) and from what I've heard he is a promising talent at only 20 years old. Although not a big target man I reckon he may be better value than Forsell at £3 million - or Beattie at £3million. Haven't seen him enough to really have a firm opinion on his abilities though.

What do you lot think ?

Good call, exiled.
I rate him higher than Beattie, and for £1.5m he would be a real bargain. If we could get hold of Forsell more permanently that would be promising also, as he is definitely going to improve with age and experience.

I think it;s definitely a waste if he ends up at Birmingham (the only team with a squad to rival the size of Portsmouth's).

That must be at least 6 strikers they have there now (Johnson, Ndlouve, Adebola, Horsfield, Furlong, Burchill, and others I've no doubt forgotten !)
