As this is the Mullery hate page, here is my Mullery story. I went to Primary School with His son. Sad thing was, he was really shit at football. Hated it. I once went to a birthday party at his house, and it turned into dribbling round cones and little skills practice. It was pretty embarrassing, even for me at seven because old Alan insisted on playing, and trying to get his son to try harder. It turned into something like a cross between Kes and the Pushy Mum bit on BigBreakfast. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up playing for Norwich.

Nugget, didn't we break Keown's nose twice in two seasons? and after all Eric had two legs...
Essex, how can you include Southgate?. I'm still hoping to pick up a tidy little sum having backed him at 100 - 1 to captain England (and that was before he ever became the Palace skipper)I am still living in hope that this could be my best ever footie bet returning a cool £1,000 smackeroo's

Obviously my selective memory would wipe out any hardship suffered by pretty boy Keown but I do remember Howard Kendall saying "you can't expect to play Crystal Palace and then expect to go home and kiss the wife"

I know not many of you will remember Brian Joicey, but whether he was playing for Coventry or Sheffield Wednesday.he'd always have a great game against us in the early 70's.I remember he helped settle the epic FA cup contest of 1972/73 that went to 2 replays against Wednesday. He's the sort of player you look back on and wonder how many millions he would have been worth by todays standards (about 8.5 probably).Poor bloke had a stroke not long after he finished his playing career, and ended up with not very much to show for all those goals he scored-very sad.
Apart from him-Cantona for being an imbecile,Mark Hughes (obviously),Alan Hudson and Peter Osgood of Chelsea always had a field day against Palace when i was a kid,the entire early 70's Leeds side-dirty cheating gits,i agree with Gavin about Brian Horton when he was at Brighton and also their keeper Eric Steele was a total ******** who used to incite the Palace faithful whenever he could.Roy Keane for the 95 cup semi, and Nicky Butt for breaking Nigel Martyns fingers when we needed him most .Mullery (******) Venables both times,Goldberg, and Martin Hinshelwood for being the only Palace ever player who woulldn't give me his autograph when asked politely. And last but not least,Neil Redfearn for the goal that beat us at Selhurst in 97 when he was with Barnsley and the "gesture" that followed it-you had to be in the Whitehorse to have seen it.My aplogies to the thousands of others i've forgotten who have had me foaming at the mouth over the last 30 years.

The only Palace autograph I've got of the era is one Martin Hinshelwood. Saw him in a pub in Pevensey Bay, he was nice as pie to me, would it be a collector's piece now!!?

What about the McDonalds wrecking Leeds United player Mr Lee "Do you know who I am" Bowyer. Ever since he had the cheek to score against us at Selhurst we’ve hated him. Away at the Valley that season who can forget "Did your mummy knit your gloves"? Or when he returned to Selhurst with Leeds in the cup the deafening 15 minutes of "Lee Bowyer, is a wnaker, is a wnaker" that got him visibly riled.
Did anyone watch that football unzipped thing a the weekend? Basically you had these 2 bimbos (better be careful what I say here, but they really were!) whose sole quest in life seemed to be bedding footballers! Anyway they went to this nightclub in Leeds and after being knocked back by Harry Kewell they ended up with that prat Bowyer. He seemed so thick and proberley gave them VD or something. What a complete ugly foolish idiot!
