I admit I,m a coward ! Three of us (palace) walked into the above game late (Chelsea Game)And there was this great big hole in the crowd where no people were standing ,so we went stright for it.I said to a guy next to me why the space mate ?he said we just "done" a load of palace !Thats when we saw it was all chelsea around us and started singing "come on chelsea "untill we could get out of there.

Jezus Christus Chockeeee where did u get that clip from?
I was 6 years old in the crowd that night, all I remember is that I couldn't see a damn thing.
My first match was I believe a 3-3 draw vs Wrexham in 75-76 (but I could be v wrong), I was only 3 myself).

Wasn't there an Under 23's against Czechoslovakia around the same time. I was at Selhurst the night Taylor scored, but, without rummaging around for the programme, I thought it was the Czechs and not the Ports?
Re the Chelsea newspaper cutting, I was just telling Monty that that was one of the best cup runs of all time. Little old Palace of the Third Div kicking ass big time. I really was convinced we were going all the way that year. On the journey up on the train to each game all I could hear in my ears when we went through a tunnel was "Eagles, eagles"! Our name was on the cup - until bloody Mick Channon and co. went and spoiled it all. Still, happy days. Sunderland - I keep going on about it I know, but it was as if I had to be there. I was only 16 and went on my own. The train broke down, we got there just before half time, but it didn't matter. Hammond bowls the ball to Taylor, Taylor runs down the wing and crosses for Whittle to rifle it home. Pure magic!!!!!

Defo Portugal Al! The Czech game was about a year before, England won 3-1 and Sir Taylor scored in that as well.
