Everybody knows it. :D That reminds me, Gotta pre order it soon. Had the demo you got from bying Zone of the Enders. And I can tell you now it is cracked up to be and more. It's a must buy. If you want to judge it yourself before you buy, at the end of the month the New PS2 mag is out and that has a new playable demo.

got that demo with the magazine and the quality is just inspired. the little touches that have been put in are amazing and the sheer attention to detail....like when you shoot the guard's radio, and he just shakes it in his hand before trying to run away. or holding guards up for extra rations, ammo and dog tags. or the rain on the lens of the camera when you go into first person mode. or hanging by your fingertips while the guards search for you. it is class, and apparently bigger than the z.o.e demo, but i haven't yet got past the battle with olga. i've pre-ordered mine already...

Yeah it was a fab game. I'm not really a console games man, but my flat mate had it, and I played it right through about 4 times. Sad. Completed the training missions and the extra missions disk, too.
But I could never find the camera. Where is it?
Thinking of getting a PS2 just for the new one. Sorry to ask such a lame question, but do old PS games work on the PS2?

I bought the magazine yesterday and played MGS2 for about 3 hours. Soo Amazing!!! Once u get past olga, you go into the engie room and stuff. Not too much more to do. You get the USP which makes it more fun. For example, them hard gaurds that think you won't them, shoot them in the hand and they soon shi* themselves. By the way, If u want a list of things to do in the demo go to ign.com then go to ps2 guides, It has a special section for the MGS2 demo and tells you all the special little things.
What?

It does look fantastic! Played the Demo, oozes quality, with that and The new Medal Of Honour and Legends of wrestling there is no better time to have a PS2

It's a game every ps2 owner has got to get. It's worth getting a PS2 for it.

another good place to go is www.gamefaqs.com. one of the guys on there who played the japanese demo had far too much time on his hands. plus the european version of MGS2 will apparently have extra things to do in it, over and above the Japanese and USA versions. about time we got extra stuff for being last in the queue....

I have to go along with Pallet.
Went into EB today to check if tomorrow is still the release date. They told me that they were selling it today so Have been playing it all night and wow!!! I'm guessing that by the end of the game, the amount of videos (cut sequences) will total up to well over 3 hours.
By the way, you aso get a DVD with the making of which I have not seen yet.

Got my copy of Metal Gear Solid 2 last night from New Age Consoles in Croydon. Been up half the night playing it......
As you can imagine, I'm popular with the other-half at the moment.
Fantastic game though, so it was worth it! :D
The only thing I would say against it is that the game feels like a bit of an anti-climax. Especially when you consider that we have been waiting a long time for this sequel (4yrs??).

Go to either New Age Consoles (first floor of the Whitgift Centre near WH Smiths & Allders) or Gamestation on George Street.
I picked my copy up from New Age for £39.99 as opposed to the RRP of £44.99.
Both of these shops usually under-cut EB's or anywhere else.

My dad is playing it upstairs now :( I want a turn :veryangry :D Although, he is pretty pish at it. You know that noise it makes when a guard see's you, for some strange reason that noise keeps coming from upstairs :D

If any of you have a Marko card they are selling it in there for £29.99 plus vat. Or if you get you PS2 chipped its only a tenner and you could have had it a month ago like me:p

got mine 08/03/2002, was meant to do dinner (and did so) £44-00 to watch bloody cut sceens! The action is SO SO if you finally get some, could have spent the money taking the Mrs out for mothers day rather than getting shat on for playing a DVD film!!!!!!!

The cut sequences do get a bit boring I admit. It makes te game better though. I've played it all day today and just completed it on very easy. Took 13 hours. Not tooo bad I don't think. About 15 hours with the sequences.

I don't like the way you have to be this girly looking Raiden guy.
I knew you had to be someone else for a while, but not for the rest of the whole game. I want to be snake again.:sob: :sob: :sob:

I like Raiden more than snake. He seems to be more ninja style.

OI! Shut it...I don't want people to spoil the game for me!
I'm still playing it now...
what a game!!!
The cut scenes make it better. It gives the game a flowing feeling, as if your part of a big story-line. It has a continuity to it.
I love the way you can slip over on bird sh!t!!! :D

I like Raiden too but Snake is better. He is the Legend of the last game and he doesn't look like a girl
Sorry to dampen the enthusiasm but....
My son bought it on Friday and completed it Sunday morning total playing time around 11 hours, ok he did it on the very easy level but surely it should be harder than that? also from the couple of hours I watched it was possibly one of the most boring games I have ever seen and nowhere near as much fun as the original. The video sequences appear far too long and dull as well as too frequent. :grrr:

Hmmmm??? Completely wrong. There's so much more to do. I remember myself thinking the same sort of thing when I completed very easy in 13 hours. Normal is far too easy. When you gt alerted you can just walk out the door and it is all gone. You alwas have the radar up and you knock people out with a tranqueliser to the arm straight away. Completely opposite to normal. On hard you're not even allowed to be spotted and that's not even the hardest level setting. There's still extreme and european extreme settings to bet. I dread to think how hard they'll be.
Not only is there the game to complete but if you went to the konami site about a year ago you could have asked them to put you in the game as one of the gaurds. Which Is why I want to find all them dog tags too.
There's also secrets such as getting the digital, getting the wigs for unlimited ammo etc, also to gets the stealth suit which on't be easy. You need to complete the game on extreme for that without using any rations.
By the way, 11 hours gameplay on very easy and just 2 hour movie isn't dull.
