Neil,
I thought his game was around 1961/62 maybe we played them twice ??
Anyway the one I remember we
lost 2-0, they came from Sao Paolo I think, but were a second or third division team over there, no 'known'players but they outplayed us.

Cheers mate, I thought it was late 60's, but can't be sure until I get home, so you are probably right.

I recently picked up a teamsheet for a friendly Palace played against a Brazilian side called Bangu.
The game was in the late- sixties and I was wondering if anyone out there has any information on the game, the score or anymore about the opposition (I've never heard of them).

Yeah, you're "bang" on EE, although the teamsheet doesn't have a year the next advertised game is in Aldershot in Div 4 - and we've still got Johnny Byrne.
According to the notes Bangu were champions the year before (of what it doesn't say).
Do you have a lot of info. about Palace against international oposition, Eastern? If so, this would really help the book project we are currently involved in for the Trust. E-mail me, if you feel you can help!
