I had a word with john the manager of the Cherries yesterday about them showing the Liverpool semi in there before the Stockport game.....he's well up for it but was waiting for the bloke who originally spoke to him about it to get back to him ......his description sounded like it might have been Sombrero... anyway if it was any of you can you contact him about it. 0181 653 3279. I told him lots of us would be well up for it. He's talking about having 5 screens and he'll be passing the trust collection boxes for us too.

Sounds like a great idea - if that can't stop you crying, I don't know what will!

It's Neil who's organising it. Kevin, could you arrange for Rory to be sick before 12 noon semi-final kick-off time, so he can get it over and done with, and we won't have to be looking over our shoulders for projectile vomit flying our way?

I'm not sure a hanky will be enough...The Thames Barrier might have to be shut that day though! http://www.cpfc-bbs.com/ubb/supergrin.gif

Anyway, it's all sorted with John, he now has my tape and is hopefully rigging up extra telly's.
The big screen is linked directly into the cable box, but he's hopeful of getting it on there as well!
The show will commence at 11.47am Saturday and include the BBC build-up, half-time and full-time analysis.

I've got a good feeling about this game. Just a little more than I did this week 10 years ago!
Edit Venables out though eh?

Hmmm. I might have to turn up for this since *whispers and shuffles feet* I've never seen it.
Does this admission get me excommunicated?

So after watching the semi-epic Palace v. Stockport probably is going to be some sort of anti-climax. (Though I hope Carlo will do us a favour yet again)
BTW: I'll arrange a private party at home and watch this tape too. Sat at 12. Then I'll be off to my PC for internet radio commentary. http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smokin.gif

Well at least you'd have known it wasn't Sombrero http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/supergrin.gif http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/supergrin.gif
Actually I'd be quite worried if John thought I was devastatingly handsome ...

I wish i had been there to see the rerun of that great game. Was the Cherry Trees well attened for the event?

Firstly it was great to see the game again and even though I knew that we were going to
win it still made me nervous watching. And not a bad turn out either.
But it also left me feeling quite down. After that famous victory the Palace world seemed to have no limits and although we lost the final, finishing third the following season and winning the ZDS cup ( ok I will admit that it was a micky-mouse contest but at least it was some silver-ware) I really thought we HAD arrived.
And, 10 years later, here we are staring in the abyss, not knowing what the future holds. Our ambition for the next few years is just survivial in this divison and the events at Villa park seem a hundred years away, not ten.
Still that is life, that is Palace.

Mat, the events at Villa Park aren't 100 yards away. Villa Park is just around the corner. If we're clever enough we'll be there in 2001.

Sugar Loaf,
I turned up but never came through the front door for reasons explained in "Hasty Retreat" thread on General chit-chat.
