Does anybody out there remember a documentary that featured Palace which was screened in the seventies. It was intended as a behind the scenes look at the running of a football club and included about 3 or 4 episodes. I can only recall the first one which was about matchdays and included footage of the 3-3 draw with Swindon Town during the 75/76 season. It was shown pretty late in the evening as I recall because I wasn't allowed to stay up for the others. Does anyone else remember seeing this or remember what or who were featured in the other episodes. I'm pretty sure that the title of the show was 'Saturday's Heroes'.

Don't remember programme, but do remember game. We lead 3-1, they missed a penalty but still came back for a 3-3 draw.

Some things never change.

I remember the programme.

As far as I can remember there was another documentary at the same time about a player in Palace's youth team called Vince Hilaire, and how he was set to become the first black player to play for England. It was fly on the wall stuff.

The one with Swindon, I remember footage of at half time with Big Mal and El Tel in the changing room. El Tel was going round each player shouting instructions at players whilst Big Mal said very little save a few quiet words in a couple of players' ears.

I know who I would have listened to.

The match was shown about 4 years ago on Classic Big Match re-runs which used to be shown at around 2 in the morning. I taped it, but can't find it anywhere.

D'oh.
