Ladbrokes poker has a hand history feature which shows your opponent mucked cards.

I had always thought the whole point of the muck was that you didn't want to show your losing hand.

This thread http://internettexasholdem.com/poker-forum/tue-feb-24-2009-321-pm-vp6650550.html seems to suggest this is common for poker software and is even allowed in some casinos?

It's pretty standard. It doesn't show folded cards, only mucked cards when a hand goes to showdown.

When a hand goes to showdown, the person who last bet/raised has to show their cards first but at most casinos and poker rooms he also has the right to see the other player's cards even if he has won the pot.

A lot of players don't exercise this right considering it to be bad etiquette, but online mucked cards are normally provided to players in the hand history viewer as standard.
