As I remember, this manager has absolutely no credentials at all, his tactic is much the same as Allan Smith, to punt it up front, and although he did have respect from his players, were they not known as the crazy gang for a reason!? Totally wrong man for the job, give either Houghton a try, or attempt to get Allan Pardew in!

PS. I don't want Smith out just yet, give him another 3 games, and see what happens. These are recomendations should Smith get sacked in the future.

I agree, give him enough rope to hang himself. What he'll do when he is sacked is appear on talk Sport, saying what a mess the club was in, the appalling pre-season results, the 7-1 loss to Huddersfield, relegation to the third division in 1974, and Bert Head overspending on new players in 1971. I.E anything or anyone to blame but himself. The man is clearly deluded as to his own abilities.

Kinnear won't come here, although I'd of thought he is the sort of bloke to have sorted the place out.

Alan Pardew is untried at this level, but seems a sensible bloke, who is now doing well with Reading. Possibly a good choice

Hmmmm.....How about keeping a team of very ordinary players in the premiership year after year and to three or four cup semi finals. Note the slide at the end of the season before last and relegation last year after his heart attack.

Also developed the likes of Perry, Thatcher, Euell, Gayle etc etc.

His style was not as crude as hit and hope - it was very much like Leicester i.e. direct but with a purpose (much like Coppell when we were at our peak in the early 90s). He commanded respect from all his players and one things for sure, the likes of Morrison and Mullins wouldn't get away with their current sulking.

He is the best manager not in a job at the moment but there is little chance of him working with Jordan I suspect.

Oh hang on, I just remembered he bought FatBoy Roberts. On second thoughts don't touch him with a barge pole.
