I know the season hasn't been finished all that long and as it stands there isn't going to be any football next season due to the CBA not being agreed but the bookies are still taking bets on next years Superbowl champs and it would be good to get tips and talk about spreads etc once/if the season does begin. I know a few places also take bets on where certain college players will be taken in the draft which is only a month away.
William Hill are also taking bets on whether there will be a disruption to the season, whether there will be any football played before January 2012 and also whether there will be a Superbowl before May 2012.

Jets and Giants look pretty decent value, pretty open though, difficult to make any outright punts before the draft and free agency. Although Eagles are worth a shout if we get Asomugha and draft some good O-linemen. Well we'll be good to trade shorter than 17s at some point in the season anyway.
Think it was after the skins second game we were favourites for the SB around 7.2 or something. Really wanted to lay us to the hilt but couldn't quite bring myself to do it.
Anyway i'd be surprised if the SB was won by anyone other than:
Pats, Packers, Steelers, Ravens, Eagles, Jets or Giants.

If the Saints and Colts can come by some kind of effective running game then they could be in with a shout, good odds too.

Colts are fading fast.
They rely way too much on Manning and have used a hell of a lot of high picks on Offensive players.
You mention a running game. They took Donald Brown and Joseph Addai in the last 4 years with their 1st round picks.
Swanny32
28-03-2011, 05:35 PM
Addai is half decent, if they can keep him fit then he could probably do a job for them but I still don't rate him all that high. I can see why they are at 17/1 but I still think that's a good price to take them at.

I agree with Paul, Colts on the downswing, also think Saints are weak on defence. Both are also in divisions with improving teams so not sure either will even make the playoffs!

Never bet against Brees.
Rarely bet against Manning.
I do bet against the Colts Running game, ageing O-Line and poor defense.

Personally, 1st - 3rd is easy money, and if the Panthers don't take him with their number 1 pick I'll be amazed especially as they don't have a 2nd round pick. By the time it gets back to them in the 3rd round, Newton, Gabbert and Locker will be gone, surprised to see the Bills favorite to pick Newton.

Yea I thought exactly the same thing, but 7 is quite high still if you want to make any decent money.
Probably worth laying us mid way through the season before our tough run.

Cardinals v Vikings this weekend. Cardinals 1/3 with a -1 net point score and Vikings are 0/4 with a -19 point score.
Playing at Vikings but I cannot see why they are favourites?
Vikings are 3/4 and Cardinals 5/4
Cardinals to win by 1-6 is 4/1 and by 7-12 is 13/2 - I'm backing both of these

Taking on the Riddler again for the Patriots - 17/10.
Also with Ladbrokes.
The bet is 1st TD Scorer for a team (i.e if MJD scores 1st in his game, but you have Fred Jackson who scores to make it 7-7, you win)
Trebles from 5 (doesn't let you do 4 from 5 or an acca):
Fred Jackson (Buffalo) - 9/4
Arian Foster (Houston) - 17/10
Vincent Jackson (San Diego) - 7/2
Calvin Johnson (Detroit) - 13/8
AJ Green (Cincinnati) - 7/2

Kicking myself for not having another go @ L McCoy this week :grrr:
Got news that McCoy has questionable toe injury coming into this game, so I'm going to go with D Jackson (PHI) for first TD scorer @ 8/1.

I got 3 from 5 this week in my bet.
AJ Green, Ray Rice and Rob Gronkowski done the business.
Arian Foster didn't.
Neither did Frank Gore. Who was 6 inches from winning me an extra £175.

Was watching Bears on Redzone last night - saw that Denver had possession in last minute of regular time and could force overtime. Stuck a couple of quid on at 20/1 and waited for Tebow time :lux:
