View Full Version : David Tuttle
Son of Selhurst

All I remember is that in all the games he played, he was just an OK player.
Then one of the last games he played for us he surprised us all by hitting a free-kick from 20 yards and nearly taking the crossbar out! A hidden talent revealed and then off he goes!

But he was the finest exponent of the 'hoof' seen in recent years. I don't think he ever made a pass that went cross field, less than 20 yards, or stayed on the ground.

I think he'll do well for you lot - he's very committed on the pitch, which usually wins 'round your crowd.
He can be very clumsy at times tho', leading to all manner of free-kicks being given away.
Off the pitch I thought he was a nice bloke, I remember a 0-0 draw up at Barnsley (strangely) a few years back. He came out of the dressing room with his nose all over his face, but he was still first to bar to get the beers in for his team-mates.
Quite rightly, Dave's upset about the wages thing. The version of the story I heard was not too dissimilar other than his agent was responsible for a hell of a lot of stirring (perhaps he has the same agent as Svensson).

I actually liked him (I seem 2 be in a minority)... he had a good shot, fairly strong, and a good marker!

He is a very committed player who will be a great asset to you, especially in the 2nd division.
Now all you need is Bobby Bowry to come back and you will have a team capable of promotion!
by the way Small number, aren't you supposed to be at school??
------------------
Bowry? You have GOT to be joking. Possibly the worst player we ever got from you lot with the exception of Phil Barber. Bow-Wow reckons he's got Norwich vying for his signature if we don't give him an improved contract at the end of the season. Personally, I'll pay his cab fare if the Canaries genuinely want him!

Bobby Bowry was good for us at times. But
without wishing to sound like Noade's
Channel 4 interview, I thought he was a very promising player on a relaid pitch in the August & September sunshine. When the pitches got heavy he was ineffectual.
Who agrees or disagrees.
Tuttle was a trier, not overly talented put put himself out on and off the pitch for Palace. 'Journeyman' springs to mind.
Paul you should feel lucky we never gave you
Rudi Hedman, he was so bad I remember some wag on the Holmesdale advising him as he was taking a corner that his taxi had arrived.
Do you fancy your teams chances of promotion this year ?

he was very popular here even after he had left, you could tell that because a few games ago after he was sent off for deliberate hand ball on the goalline, which if it had gone in we could possibly pushed for an equiliser,he gota f****g standing ovation.

Having never totally been convinced about his commitment/loyality, I was won over by his reaction after the play off final victory against Sheff. Unt. He was the most elated of all the team, and seemed genuinely pleased for the club and fans, unlike a certain carrot topped Scot who basked in the glory and then pissed of to Leeds for more money. As long as you don't expect pace and passing ability, he'll fit in well at the Den.
------------------
Don't know about the transfer/money owed situation, but I thought he was a fairly solid player. Sometimes capable of hitting row Z when least expected, but also good for a goal now and then (usually header at a corner) and hard in the tackle. Anyone at Wembley in 97 would have seen his commitment. I think he'll do a good job in the 2nd division.

Bowry is a world class player, there would be little argument about that!
Remember his first season with you when you came to selhurst park and beat us (2-1?) Bowry got the man of the match award and ran the game.
Also what about his "own goal of the season" at one of your home games. He curled it round his own keeper from outside the area, true class!
Hi all. I'm editor of House of Fun, the online Millwall fanzine (http://www.hof.org.uk), but don't worry, I come in peace.
We've just signed David Tuttle from Barnsley for 200K. Seem to remember he was a fairish player for you but haven't seen much of him at the Tykes. I've spoken to a couple of Barnsley fans about him, and got their perspective, but I was wondering if any of you could give me a Palace fan's opinion of him.
Any emails to webmaster@hof.org.uk would be well appreciated.
(oh, by the way, you're winning our front-page poll at the moment: "Which club do you REALLY think deserves to go bust and die?" :-) And there was I thinking we hated West Ham more than you... Seriously though, good luck getting things sorted.)
Tuttle is a trouble maker (not my words) and IMVHO dishonest. He attempted to manipulate the media to give the impression he waived monies owed when he tranferred- this was a lie.
he is tough but trouble!

I thought he was a top bloke. When that lard arse Cadbury was signing shirts at the open day, he had a massive queue of kids waiting. He turned to Tuttle and said, right that's it, guvnor said I could go at 1'
Tuttle turned to him and said 'Sit the **** down, what are you playing at'
Needless to say old tubby arse Cadbury soon sat down. Tuttle always did his bit off the pitch and I liked him on the pitch too.

1. Tuttle is a good buy for Millwall. He's better than most second division defenders and a "Character" (ie tells foreign players English for hello is fuk off). Good for morale and all.
2. Newman was worse than Bowry but we never gave you Zohar or Taylor or Brolin so count your lucky stars.

Tuttle's a good bloke - always time to speak to the fans (he even spoke to a p*ssed bloke I was with at QPR last season).
Known to his team mates as Fred Scuttle.

Old Tutts is ok. He's no world beater but he's solid enough and seems like a good "lad" to have around, judging by the comments of his peers.
And he was bloody brilliant at Wembley against Sheff U - they hardly got a kick (well, not of the ball anyway).
Good luck to him and you.

he's average as a centre back, gets a headed goal or two, but once he's run up the pitch it will take him half an hour to get back, he's a bit of a practical joker should play for the dons really, hey hermann!
