I admire your self restraint Rolling. I was in the supermarket at the checkout yesterday and heard one of the guys on the till shouting out "6 nil" to one of his colleages as he passed by.

Thankfully I decided that Bermondsey could do without my presence on Saturday - after all Palace don;t come and see me when I'm bad!

I am just hoping that these results are blips and that they will pull themselves together for the start of the season.

The only thing that could have been worse was if it had been against your mob or Brighton!

i can quite easily explain a 3-1 defeat in the same manner as you guys are trying to explain your 5-1, 4-0 and 6-0 defeats.

but i'm not going to cos alongside that defeat we've had 2-0, 3-1 and 4-1 victories.
if you read the match report you'll see that plymouth scored all 3 (1 pen) in a ten minute spell just after half-time after 9 subs were made. we outclassed them but failed to convert chances, which sounds all so familiar when it comes to charlton.

but in the last hour we've signed jonaton johansson from rangers for 3.75m who will hopefully start converting these chances and help keep us up next season. i think he is forsells elder strike partner for finland.

oh, and by the way, we've had some palarse ponces on our board trying to play up the fact that forsell went to yoursleves and not us. surely the sensible fans amongst you can realise that this is because chelsea wanted to keep ownership of one of their young hot prospects - unofficially we wanted to buy the lad for 2m, whereas you could never afford him and so have to take him on loan.

lets be honest, he wasn't exactly prolific for you last season, and just because he went to you has no bearing on ambition or size of club.

Of course Rolling mist the 6-0 defeat to the our only real south London rivals was an embarrament and a disgrace & in local terms far more so than either of the defeats to your team last season. As for your results well I really couldn't give a stuff whether you lost 3-1 won 3-1 or whatever to Plymouth, I don't care your just irrelevent !

The one point about Forsell is that he is a great youngster, a player for the future. It wasn't that we couldn't afford him, we could, remeber we've now got money avaliable for players since the Jordon take over. Chelsea just wouldn't let him go, so please get your facts straight before you blurt out your usual cr@p on our BBS.

So was Lee Sharpe !!!!

Don't know why we're all sparring with each other, we're both going to have boring mid-table seasons !!!! (I wish)

You should be grateful about one thing. 6-0 guaranteed you all a hiding-free journey home !!!

Six goal defeats are something that I expect Charlton fans will have to get used to soon!

01-08-2000, 03:41 PM
Forsell.... ah that's right, the guy who tried to be the invisible man when we completed our beautiful double over you lot. You'll advise me, no doubt, but exactly what did he contribute in your awful season ?

As for preferring the insecurity of a loan deal to a permanent one to us....dream on. You're welcome to him, I doubt whether he'll have many defenders quaking in their boots though. Maybe 10 goals next season....wow !

01-08-2000, 06:02 PM
Millwall ur ****. We didnt try against u because it was a FRIENDLY. Unfortunately u dont get any other opportunities to play us cos we are a division above u. You can dream about playing against us competitively but quite frankly it will never happen.
As for Charlton, you are the biggest bunch of ponces in the world

Why is everyone so agressive on here? Rolling Mist came on being quite polite and it degenerates into a slanging match? Surely sensible debate about the merits of our respective teams doesnt have to be out of the question just becasue we think they all live in caravans and sell lucky white heather does it?

02-08-2000, 10:52 PM
We're not the squatting gypos though Al, your the boys who are currently leasing.

Considering our 'rivalry' is meant to be one-sided, all the bitterness and aggression seems to be going the other way !!!!

Summer camp over already John? My, you're an angry young man aren't you.

When exactly did the last Charlton player play for England? When did you last reach a cup final or finish top three in the highest league in England?

One consolation, the heather won't need watering with the weather we've been having recently.

Um, the last time wwe won a cup final well if you're referring to the FA Cup that was 1947, now you tell me when you won it żmug?

Alternatively if you're referring to any cup final well you're either ignorant or have a severely poor memory cos of course we won the play off final in '98 and you do win a cup in that game don't you ?

Oh and just for good measure we are currently the champions żmug?

You've never won a cup final, getting to the final is irrelevant unless you win it żmug?

Top Eagle

Play Off final - Won that
Promoted as champions - Done that

Both before you.

Face it, you are a premiership club for 2000/01 but dont get your hopes up, whether you hate palace or not, whether you think palace hate you, the fact is Charlton are not good enough to stay up. Nor are Man City, the only team capable (I think) are Ipswich as they play better football that Charlton and Man City.

It is more than likely though that all 3 promoted clubs will come down.

I think you are also confusing what this was about, Jordan was talking about fan base and potential, which is why he put us above West Ham I think though they are the fourth biggest with palace behind that, no offence but you do not have the fan base that palace has.

As for all the other crap that people talk dont care much for that, read a lot of threads about people getting punched and who bottles it from who, this is a web site, if you really liked a good row then you would not wind up on the internet you would say things face to face and have the scars to prove it. So lets get back to the debate.

Enough Said

07-08-2000, 01:55 PM
Top Eagle,

Excuse me but when did you win the cup ? Just like all the other Nigels on this site, you quote things that suit and leave out things that don't. I believe the natural trend of the last few forums, five alive, and the roar went on, millwall 6 palace 0, whilst in general, we are laughing our heads off at your demise, we are quite naturally enjoying our time at the moment. Unfortuantely you Palace fans don't seem able to take what has previously been given, and in number. Just like when you quote that we may be a current premier club, but we'll come down. We may do, from where I stand there's not too much embarassment there. The real thing though, and anyone with any sense will know is that we are so far ahead of you in footballing terms and financially. As for Mr Jordans quote, well, where would we all be without our history. It's no good going through the 70's statistical books and saying wow look at that attendance for that midweek game. The fact of the matter is that your 70's hey days are no more, and as for the average crowds you brandished more recently in the premiership, they are long gone. For you, all you have is the support that you got last season. On the other hand at Charlton we are completely sold out, and could probably, if the ground was bigger enough sold another 10 thousand or so season tickets. Thats now, and not last season, or ten before that. In fact, historically we probably average bigger gates than you, but then as I said earlier you problably only go back to the 70's when you did indeed enjoy big crowds, unlike us in the 40's 50's when we were a force to be reckoned with in London. So please Top Eagle, quote like for like, use all the facts at your disposition. You remind me of a schoolboy eating his chips and chicken and leaving the cabbage and cauliflower to one side !

07-08-2000, 05:35 PM
Top Eagle, forgive me, I thought, by your reply to a previous post, you were worthy of a decent response. The Cup I refer to, is the FA CUP, you know, the one that has eluded you and your sorry club since Palace were unfortunately founded.
I obviously wasn't at the 1947 cup final, however I have been a regular since 1983.

quote..
If you mean the FA Cup, you have a go at me for going back to the 70's, 1947 is a bit before that, dont you think??
unquote..

The reason I mentioned 1947 is because that is the year we won the comptetion. The only other time I referred to the past was to illustrate that if we were to employ SJ phylosophy then we too would have a good fan base to brag about. I dont think it is I that is confusing the issue, just that you obviously still dont understand either your / our history or can't write and read properly.

Finally, weren't you the one requesting that we use these forums for discussions rather than for fighting talk. Sounds to me you're a bit of a hypocrite, Nigel

Top Eagle
07-08-2000, 05:58 PM
Dont think I am a hypocrite. Just trying to get you tell me exactly what you were trying to say.

1947, never mentioned it, yet you say compare like for like. You won the cup, well done, will go down in history for you to be proud of.

When we talk about being the biggest and the best, I think everyone on here has there own opinion as to who that is. As I said in my previous posting we have been bought to our knees over the past couple of years. That still does not hide the fact that we are a big club, with the foundations now being laid for us to fully recover from what has been a heart wrenching experience for the Palace faithful.

We have hopefully seen these days gone now and can rebuild what was ruined by administration.

Only last week we had an extra wrench when coppell left, imagine Curbishly leaving Charlton, and now imagine after 16 years of service to the club, it does not bear thinking about I bet.

Palace has a heartbeat again which was on the verge of being stopped during 2 painful years or administration and messing about by a useless chairman.

I think what I am trying to say is, dont judge us right at this minute, wait and see what happens before shooting your mouth off about us being "nigels" and "mugs".

If your boys stay up, fair enough, but I would like us to get there so we could then compare like for like, surely a full house at selhurst or the Valley would be the best way for Charlton and Palace to have a rivalry rather than "non-contact" banter on the bullettin boards.

I think I have said enough on this now, so somebody somewhere start another thread for us to talk about.

07-08-2000, 07:11 PM
Top Eagle,

There are quite a few big clubs around in the lower leagues. Preston, Bolton, Birmingham City to name a few...sounds like you want us to judge you when and if you re-establish yourself ! The point which I think is confusing everyone is how can you be the fourth or even fifth biggest club in London. Arsenal Chelsea Spurs and West Ham must surely be the top 4, agreed ? Then you say Palace, other say Charlton. Tell me, what measures the size of a club. Money, Fans ; Charlton enjoy more than Palace, currently, Team strength, no question.
I can't see how else you can gauge one club against another. Which is why some people are laughing at SJ quote. Thought for the day = Tomorrow Never Comes !

On the 1947 quote, look back, then you won't embarass yourself ! whatever your real name is !

Spick SE7 Mingepiece,

Charlytown, struggling playing at Selhurst brink of extinction, ave gate 4,000.

Palace, struggling playing at Selhurst brink of extinction, ave gate 17,000.

Oh you want more?

First went back to the Valley, ave gate 10,000. Flukey play off win, everyone in Pykie land wants to watch Man U and Arsenal, and wow! ave gate of 20,000.

Dont you get it? Its not Charlytown you sad pykie fukkers are watching, its the opposition.

So fukk off back to your own board Spick, with your inbred pykie fukkers. You will be relieved to hear that I saw your mums caravan move into a local park near me.

Quick, better take the washing in.

Spanish, cant really understand what you are trying to say now. When did we win the cup?? What the first division championship?? Let me spell it out:

Promoted as champions: 93/94 season
Play off final (against Sheffield Utd): 96/97 season

As you may remember the season of 95/96 we beat you in the play off semi final and lost to a flukey steve claridge goal against leicester in the final.

If you mean the FA Cup, you have a go at me for going back to the 70's, 1947 is a bit before that, dont you think?? And by the sounds of you, you definetly were'nt around for that.

As I say not to sure what you are trying to say but I suppose there is method to your madness somewhere.

I will admit that we have been bought to our knees in recent years, but hey the fact is we can still draw in supposed "fans" from the likes of Charlton and other clubs to stick the knife in, strange that, considering we are, according to you, such a mickey mouse outfit.

Maybe you should rethink some of your comments and stop being such an argumentative little boy. Wipe your nose, say something adult or get off the web site you little baby.

Someone start a decent thread this is getting boring.

Top Eagle
08-08-2000, 12:51 PM
Brett I think you have the right idea, you try and talk to someone who is so far up their own arse, its impossible.

I dont agree with little muppets on here like spanish who if you saw them in the street would not say one word in defence of their crap club for fear of something happening to them.

Still they are on our board giving it the large, kind of sad really.

Spanish, I would imagine you are not a native of these shores, probably an illegal immigrant who lives in a grubby little caravan, in bred, weighs about 8 stone and is about as hard as a 3 year old.

Stop giving it the big one or we will have to come down and blow up your calor gas tanks you f!cking pikey scum.

Before you call me a hypocrite, I have read enough of your **** now and there really is no getting through to a **** like you.

You will get relegated and it will be sooner rather than later, your run towards the end of the season was reflective of the football you played during the season, such a great side, how many did you lose in the run in?????

08-08-2000, 02:11 PM
Wow Nigel Brett and Spotty Top Eagle, you're both so intimidating....lovely to see that we're so superior to you muppets that you can only resort to throwing inane accusations. Smell the coffeee, wake up and liven kiddo's

Oh and by the way do your mummies know how you talk on the net, tut tut, didn't think so, now go play with your lego.

Yeah I know Nigel, you find it hard enough to speak gibberish in English. Sorry to overload your small Palace mind. Nevermind, go down the road and get you 1/4 of pear drops and you'll be ok again.

By the what time is ZIT spotty ?
