Heard THE LONG ROAD AND WALK IT and another one which sounded quite similar (which seemed its only fault) and was impressed although I'm not sure of their other songs. Seem a good band

Listened to the album yet again last night, in antici.................pation of this Friday.
It really is a stonking album. Cannot wait to hear that groove blasting out live.
If you thought I danced like a nutter in Blackpool, you just wait. I will not be able to contain myself. :D

It must be like your birthday, Baloo.
I'm well up for it too. Teletext on Channel 4 this morning suggested gettting there early to see Nylon Pylon as their singer is a mad dancer! I've never heard of them personally but will give them a chance tonight.
Have fun!!:p

They are what the 90's indie scene (which, I believe, is the Oxford Dictionary of Australia's definition of "pastie") was all about - phat stonking beat with the grooviest rhythm and mesmorizing guitar riffs. And walking backwards and forwards staring at your shoes.... :D

Just got back from the gig. It was awesome. The drummer totally stole the show - he worked at 500 mph, driving each song through to its inevitable climax. The groove was encapsulating, and I was just swept along on the wave of euphoria.
Okay, enough bollocks for one evening.
Fantastic band, though. Those who have not yet discovered them - stand by.... :D

Is there any way for me to get over the singer having an annoying (in my opinion) voice? I want to like them- I like to like things- but I'm not finding it easy as yet.

Have to agree...that was one awesome gig! Having seen them at the Brighton Concorde four months ago, I was a bit worried that they were rising too fast and may not be able to cope with such a big gig, but they pulled it off effortlessly. The power and the energy levels were consistent and the drummer was brilliant. My only minor gripe was that they didn't do "Jag Tune" or any encores.
Hopefully, they will be on the main stage at Reading this year. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Fair enough. I like some other so-called annyoing voices like Thom Yorke and Heather Small, so each to their own.
Bit surprised The Music were only on the Carling Stage at Reading this year (more-or-less the stage of support bands), albeit headlining: usually I've never heard of any of the bands on there. I'd have thought them worthy of Evening Session Stage billing, considering how much people like them. I was watching Prodigy at the time, though I did watch Ikara Colt the previous night in that tent, to get away from the Foo Fighters.

The Music had only released two EPs (maybe three) at the time of the Reading festival, so their place on the Carling Stage was probably not that surprising.
I don't personally see anything objectionable about Robert Harvey's voice. What's there to dislike? Do you think it's a whiney voice?
He was almost pitch-perfect on Friday, as well, which was especially impressive considering some of the higher notes he had to hit.
But that drummer...

None other than Nottingham's Rock City.

I'm not sure, I think it's a only part of it. I had to leave for work before I could listen to it all. The mix is good though and the guitar has been pushed up in the mix, and there is also echo on the vocals.
As you have already said, the drummer was inspiring. They really remind me of the Chemical Brothers live where everything swells to the point where it could all fall apart but suddenly erupts into something awesome that just sweeps you away.
Great stuff!! :p

Actually it's all coming back to me. I blame the alcohol! I don't know how much I drunk on over the weekend but I can't remember anything that happened on Saturday night at all either, apart from being in "Up The Creek".
I just hope I don't get too pissed and forget the forthcoming cup victory over the Hubcap Bandits!!
