i heard a whisper today from the training ground that dougie could be on his way back.

Great. If he wants to and is hungry for it and has lost his annoying habit of drifting in and out of games.
One of the key attributes of last season was the players' unquenchable desire to win. It didn't always happen but most of the time they all played up to the limit of their capabilities.
Regardless of who wears the shirt, that's what I want to see. From EVERY player, including Dougie if he returns.

Can i just ask Colin how likely is this to happen.
I was a great admirer of Dougie when he was with us before and feel he showed his best form whilst with us as his goalscoring record isn't as good since he left us.
If he did come back then there would be no complaints from me.

We could do worse. At least there'd be a bit of invention on the pitch. His attitude would have to improve though.

Wwouldn't say no. He's a better player than when he left.

Yes, yes, yes. Good player and by far the best looking we've had for years.
Walking in a Dougie wonderland.

i'm not so sure.
Okay, he had his good days but they were far outweighed by his mediocre days.
Now if he was more consistent.

I liked Freedman but would much rather have Shipperley back. I think we need an "Up-and-at-'em" Centre Forward more than one like Freedman.

Dougie is a complete waste of time, Very lazy, very moody and basically too lightweight.
PLEASE DONT LET THIS BE TRUE!!

Idea for a television programme......Public Punishment....We take Mark Goldberg around the selhurst pubs on a Saturday lunchtime to recieve the kicking he deserves....Very cheap to make, can do it in a pub car park.....If we dont do it SKY will!!

Blimey it's just like the old days on E-goals. The great "Freedman is a tart" debate.

I wouldn't mind some goals like his two against Wolves in the playoffs though.

Fine, but he also got sent off!
We so desparately need someone to win the ball up front. If we're talking about ex-Palace, the best would be Marcus Bent but obviously we haven't a chance with him.
I don't think we have the space at the club to carry someone with an iffy attitude. Sadly, for me that leaves out the hugely-talented Dougie.

And Palace? Are they in front? Yes they are!

I suppose that rules out Gillingham's striker Onoura as well.

Excellent - I think Dougie and Morrison will complement each other well.

Wouldn't mind seeing him back - as long as he's got rid of his selfish streak at holding onto the ball.
However - I don't think he's the type of striker we need right now. I do think we still need two strikers not one - and someone in the Shipperley mold as well.

Not against Wolves. Port Vale in the league right at the end of the season was when he got his marching orders causing him to miss Wembley.

If the price is less than £500K, then i'd go for it. If not, i'd rather splash out £1.5M on Bristol Rovers Jamie Cureton.

He was always my favourite when he was with us and I bought his keyring!
Love to see him back but obviously at a good price.

Now we'll show 'em all the Premiership Palace for next season.

The 2 strikers i would get would be:
Dougie Freedman - i think he'd be available at around £500,000 - £750,000 if that, is a proven goalscorer and his best spell was when he was with Palace and is good in the air.
Mikael Forssell - On-loan for the whole season and would prove to be a good loan aswell. Very talented and feel this Division would bring it out in him. Could score plenty.
Freedman- no way. Am I the only person that that bloke pist off when he was with us? He didn't try hard enough last time and what's to say he won't do the same to us again. He's an ordinary player anyway.

Freedman is a poor mans Jansen but we are not rich so for £500k i would go get him.

Nah, we have to many Jamie's at the club already.
We need a decent old-fashioned striker called Stan, or Arthur, or Nobby.

PS My nephew bought a shirt with Freedman on the back(not the cheapest of names to have) just before we sold him! His dad was gutted.

I think we could do with any forwrad at the moment, as long as he's a goalscorer. We only have Clinton as our ONE goalscoring forward presently. A few months ago Freedman nearly went to Reading for a quoted price of £300,000. If we could get him for that he would be a bargain.

Shades of his last tenure with us then. Had one good season, rumours of interest from Celtic, improved contract and then noticeable drop in fitness and form. Just a little bit of history repeating itself.

If SJ outs Dougie - then I'm stopping 4 season tickets . And SJ wonders why the crowds are down with TF in charge!

This season despite being injured he has still contributed far more than MR 10 k a week Ade - and has both provided and scored more goals than most. SJ your comments are better directed to the likes of ADe, Jamie Smith, Mat Clarke and Curtis Fleming . Better still deal with the real problem TF.:veryangry :veryangry

Have the stories regarding a bust up with Jordan and Freedman been confirmed or is it just another case of my friends cat heard!!!
The best person to know this would be LLCOOLSTEVE and he is normally forthcoming with any information regarding Dougie.
