I got a free £2 bet on the National last week, and as luck would have it my £2 on Montys Pass became £28. Then I had another £2 of that on Oxford to win the boat race in under 2 lengths at 11/2, and increased my total to £39. Today, I lost £2 on Bolton beating Chelsea, and 50p on an 11 game accumulator, but picked up £14.38 on an inrunning bet on Manure beating Newcastle (who were 4-1 up at the time)
The thing is, Im a bit of a rookie punter, and dont understand what a handicap is. The Manure game was a -3 handicap to Manure, and I had a fiver on it.
I need to know, because I wanna have a couple of quid on Munster tommorow, but they are 8 handicap at 10/11, whereas Leicester are -8 handicap at 10/11.
Ta!

Means Leicester start -8, so have to win by more than 8 points.........

Same thing for the football you had a bet on, Man Utd were -3 so had to win by more than 3 for you to win.

Ah right. So does that mean if Munster lose by less than 8 points then its a win for Munster (who are +8 handicap)?
Bit of luck United won 6-2 then, didnt realise the precise nature of my bet!

LLCoolsteve is right.Munster have eight points to play with, so unless they dont lose by more than eight points you will win.
I dont know what would happen though if they lost by 8, would they class it as a draw then?

Cool, well Ive just had a straight 2 quid at 5/2 on Munster non handicap.
Now Im gonna have a Canadian I think....
Arsenal to win 2/7
Southampton to win 8/13
Cardiff to win 11/10
Celtic to win 1/7
Dundee to win 11/1
20p on each of the 26 perms, but Im thinking that backing favourites in all but one is gonna mean a low win, possibly less than stake?

If Munster lose by 8 with a handicap of +8 you should get your money back, because I doubt they gave odds on the draw. A lot of the time firms handicap using half-points (i.e. Munster +8.5) to ensure a definitive win/loss result.

Right, well Ive been using my amateur skills to select some formulations for tommorow and I have bets on:
£1 @ 25/1 Sheffield United | Arsenal Double Result
50p on Sheffield United (15/2), Kilmarnock (12/1), Chest-Card Draw (9/4), Rangers (1/5), Wat-South Draw (12/5) Accumulator
10p Yankee on Arsenal (2/7), Cardiff (11/10), Dundee (11/1), Southampton (8/13)
£2 @ 5/2 on Munster

Sorry I know it was only 2 notes but what made you think that a team in 17th would beat a team in 4th away from home?

Because Bolton needed points and Chelsea always have a habit of slipping up against smaller teams.

Won £7 on the Munster result, lost the accumulator, £1.25 up on the Yankee. £50 now sits in my account, the Rugby tour to Newquay finances are picking up...
