When I post something the general forums page then says "by" under the last posters name - i.e. my name doesnt show, just the word "by".

Speed is fine Dave .. Pm's are back ... some postings are not appearing when you've written them (you can;t view them although it says you were the last person to post there ) - it seems you have to revisit the board to be able to see them.

Good work though mate !

Dave,

Struggled to get on this morning (08:00), the future home of ......etc. Fine by 09:30 though. Also, the Forums page insists that the last time I visited the site was on the 12th at 21:53, and I’ve logged on six or seven times since then!!

Last night I got the "future of cpst" so i went in via yahoo, but whenever I clicked on a link it couldn't find the URL.
Thank God its back.
Nice Work Dave. http://cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

Also, wheres the picture link gone?

I too could not get on the BBS last night, or this morning. Whichever route I tried, I either got Future home of CPST or URL unavailable. So glad to find all is well now. But is there a recommended alternative way in, and how do we contact Dave or anyone else if we cannot get in to post here? A few months ago I had problems which turned out to be related to my web browser rather than the site and since then if ever I have had difficulties I have always wondered if everyone else was exchanging views quite happily as usual.

Occasionally 20-30 seconds after successfully displaying a page my IE5 suddenly switches to 'This page cannot be displayed'...any suggestions?

Also the 'You last visited' seems to be frozen.

Cheers for the hard work.

When you click on the 'POLLS' link, you get the message: 'Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function........'

Same for me Dave. Eventually I started getting in yesterday but although I could see that other people were starting new topics etc, every time I tried to access a thread I was getting the "page cannot be displayed" message.

I think you were aware that these problems were occurring because you put that message up about "dns settings" or whatever they are.

I wonder why some of us were getting in and others not though?

By the way, for the past couple of weeks the speed of response has been vastly improved.

Dave,
two things, first not a bug, but do we have to have a default of display the last 60 days of postings, I would have thought for most of us 2 days would do?
Second, when I have read page1, page2 etc, of a thread I have clicked on the tree structure at the top of the thread to jump back rather than using the "jump to" button at the bottom or using the back button a few times. When I do this the BBS seems to hang so I need to reenter from the beginning.
As a 30 year IT worker am I being a total prat or is this a problem with the BBS.

By the way don't bother to answer the first part of that question!!

ALSO
Having spent 10 minutes typing a wonderful and considered answer to a particular thread, I go to post it. The stupid f***ing machine then says I got the password wrong, which I obviously didn't despite the pints of Young's Special I consumed earlier on, and not only that deletes all the magic prose I had entered!!!!!!!!!! Any way of giving us a second try??
:f :f :f :f :f :f :f etc.

Hi,
I would like to see the return of whom the last posting was from. At the moment , you have to enter the topic to see who had written it, and check if you had already read it.

Dave, have you just done something to the board since 1615 hrs today? Before that time the auto-refresh on the home page wasn't working and that the BT-Internet posts not updating problem has surfaced again and I wasn't seeing any of my recent posts, but now it seems to be working fine.

I can not get the main "Forums" page.
Thanks for an excellent site though, I live away from London and this and CP-FRIS are invaluable to me.

Sounds like BT problems Ian- the BBS has been working fine (I think)

Dave,

I'm having problems with my postings. I'm also on BT Internet and none of my posts have materialised.

Still, if you can't see this post then I'm writing to myself, and you're totally unaware that the problem is still around. If you can read this how do I sort out any BT problems?

Cheers

On the home page the number of replies doesn't always match up with that shown numerically, for an example look at the QPR match analysis thread, it shows there are 5 replies when in fact there are 8.

All your efforts are greatly appreciated. Cheers

B]

Insert www. after the first two forward slashes in the address once the lookup has failed, this works for me anyway.

Hi,
I am aware that there is a problem regarding pages without the WWW: It should be fixed shortly:
