We will soon be offering free webspace for Member homepages:

Each person who signs up will recieve 50 Meg of webspace and an 'address' such as
http://homepages.cpfc.org/username

If you would like to 'test' this new service please reply to this thread and we will contact you via email:

Those people with Palace related homepages will be given priority

yeah i'd be interested, dave.

need some webspace that lets you upload mp3s....not illegal ones, my own stuff, other webspace providers don't let you upload mp3s whether they are yours or not!

I'm afraid MP3's would not be allowed. The webspace is for webpages not for storing files for download.

If you really need something like that I suggest you use www.spaceports.com (http://www.spaceports.com) or something similar.

50 meg isn't a huge amount od space once you add images etc etc.

The BBS is well over a gig in size.

I am having to learn about designing a web page for a work related project so I would also be interested in developing a webiste, as a side project, that could combine my love of CPFC, food and booze ( with perhaps the odd mention of Backgammon as well )

I,m thick on all this computer stuff I just signed up and got told "Thanks again and happy editing!" and go to the home page which I did .......................What now ?

All my pics/cartoons etc have all gone as geo sh!ties/Yahoo have stopped you being able to link elsewhere.

I have front page (which I don't know sod all about )

If anyone could help it would be nice..

Very interested.

Problem is I am thick as sh*t when it comes to computers and all the jargon that goes with it. My lad (DanTeeneagle) has much more of an idea on all this sort of stuff. About time I progressed from turning on and reading all the Palace news though.

We would welcome some help and advice on this one.

Right assuming you have got an account go to
http://homepages.cpfc.org/cgi/allmanage.pl

And log in using your username and password:

Once logged in you will see a page with

Welcome username at the top where username is the name you used to sign up with

At the bottom you will see 5 upload fields where you can upload images or html pages:

So for example if you uploaded a file called test.gif then the url of that image would be
http://hoempages.cpfc.org/username/test.gif

It really is easy to use-

It seems to work, but I'm just wondering if there will be FTP access to the directory? This is because if I want to upload a number of files, it will take absolutely ages!

I am not giving ftp accounts at the moment for security reasons-

I can bump up the number of upload fields if that would help?

Ive spotted a slight bug: If you upload more than one file at a time, if you look on the upload confirmation page, each of the file names are the same. It doesn't prevent pages from being uploaded though.

Anyway, I've uploaded something I've done with Flash (you need flash to use it)... Yes I know it takes ages to load! Have a look if you want.
