I forgot to mention "Sleeps with Angels" which is most definitely not a "peice of crap". Oh and "Harvest Moon" is very good too.
Anyone got "are you passionate?" It's not on the list but I like it, despite what the critics say.
Never heard OTB believe it or not. Think i will buy it now

Everybody Knows this is Nowhere. A classic example of Neil padding out thin songs with top solos.
But I can't think of an album of his I've heard that I haven't liked.

You're joking aren't you icy?
My usual vote for Goldrush, with Comes a time a very close second. Although Zuma is almost worth it for Cortez the killer alone.

oh yes! did i not mention this?
has hdcd encoding too (20bit as opposed to 16 bit)
have it already on cd (german bootleg) and lp (£35 in manchester) but saw it a few months back for £100 in beanoes.
am a little dissapointed its coming out on cd in a perverse kind of way because it was like a "secret room" in his back catalogue full of treasure.
i think i'll wait till 4th aug cos a lp replica sleeve cd is issued then.
who said everybody knows this is nowhere has thin songs?????

Seeing NY with Crazy Horse live is something which I recommend to every rock fan to see.
For me I go for Rust Never Sleeps with Tonight's The Night just behind.
As I mentioned by me in another thread last year and also mentioned above,
Cortez The Killer from Zuma, to me,is his most electrifying song.
A shout too to Computer Age off Trans.Old Grey Whistle Test showed a live performance of this song from the States when the album was released and it was a blinding performance.

I saw him with Booker T and the MGs at La Coruña in 1992. That was pretty amazing.

He must have some sort of world record for the number of live albums looking at "Icy's" list above, which judging from the handful that I've owned/borrowed tend to sound remarkably similar.
He's one of my all time favourite artists but he has also produced some criminally poor-quality records. His eponymous first solo album being a case in point although I quite like The Loner. I don't think I've listened to Comes A Time more than a couple of times either (although there's something in there that Elephant obviously likes). Also attempting to cash in on the unspeakable and fortunately short-lived habit of releasing sequel albums in the same way as "Bat out of Hell II" / "Tubular Bells II" with "Harvest (Moon) II" was pretty unforgivable in my book, particularly as I love the original.
So if we can't turn this into a worst Neil Young Album, can somebody name the track that has appeared most often on his interminable live albums; "Out of the Blue" or "Tonight's the night" would be my guesses. Does anybody have a definitive answer ?

No, but I'd guess that Helpless would be right up there.

Having splashed out £6 for On the Beach on Monday, I've listened to it everyday this week and am very impressed. Are the other parts of the so-called 'Doom Trilogy' worth investing in?
