Teletext are running a phone poll on this (see page 488). Let's phone 0901 470 1011 and show them who the winners are going to be!

I don't know how many people read the thread, but here are the results:
Liverpool 21%
Sheff Weds 19%
Sunderland 18%
Palace 10%
Man City 9%
Birmingham 9%
Ipswich 8%
Fulham 6%
So there we have it. I don't know what this proves, except the size of each club's fan base that can use Teletext.

Sorry.... But I think Liverpool will win it. They are the only big club taking it seriously and should walk it given the rest of the sides that are left in.
I'll get me coat....

And then there were 4.
Birmingham, Ipswich, Liverpool and Palace.
Out of these Palace would have to be the outsiders, particularly considering they come up against Pool in the semis. This, of course, often suits us, not being listed as favourites to win anything!
It should be a close run thing, but getting past Liverpool with the second leg at Anfield will be nigh on impossible.
Once we are out it is probably only acedemic who wins, as who really cares?
Guess it will be Liverpool with an easy win over Ipswich - let's face it, they beat Arsenal 4-0 yesterday!

Cardiff late winter, early spring 2001.
Crystal Palace 2: Birmingham City 1 aet.
Forsell struck in the 2nd minute,, Birmingham pulled one back in the 1st minute of of injury time through a Mullins own goal. Fan headed home in the 5th minute of extra time and then Palace hung on to their lead despite Fan, Ruddock and Black being first cautioned then sent off for over jubilation at the Palace lead and taking off their shirts and throwing them to the crowd. That well known ref, Joslin was very upset by this, consulted his dapper linesmen Ebbage and Penton and dedcided to eve things up for the Blues as they had done late last year in the Palace Blackburn debacle. At the end of the match, Simon Jordan came out in the future palace strip of Red and Blue Hoops to parade the trophy around the ground. A stunning end to a magnificent match. The post match celebrations were all the more lively when David, fat boy, Mleeor was led out onto the pitch for ritual humiliation followed by a kung fu death at the hands of Fan. What a forecast.
