The biggest problem with the Ashley Cole subject is that Arsenal are not willing to sell him for the price what Palace have quote him for. Yes I did say that Palace made a futher equiry into purchasing him. But unfortunatly it looks as we are not going to be triumphant in obtain him.

However the two young players we have signs are highly rated and I do hope that they can produce the goods on the field just like young Ashley.

Lets all hope that this is the beginning of good things to come.

Indeed, just wish he'd persuaded himself to do the right thing and move to Selhurst???

Who else thinks that Ashley Cole must of had some influence on the Arsenal Boys coming down South?

I think it is good for us that Arsenal are taking offers for the players but on a compleatly different thing and maybe it should go to it's own thread. Does this show the way in regards to big clubs and youth. Here we have a couple of youngsters that are meant to be very good and Arsenal cant wait or risk putting them into the first team. The way it is going the England manager will be in the first division looking for his squad.

Arsenal loss is Palace gain. Afterall youth is the best policy for success.

I doubt if Ashley Cole was acting for Palace.

We had not scout last season so the only players we saw were those we played against in first team, reserve and under-19 games.

I hope we didn't sign them only because they played well against us. Just like David Giles and Alex Dyer ...

It was meant a bit tongue in cheek that he is our scout but lets face it he must of been asked.

But agree I hope that we have not signed because they played well against us BUT I have heard from a few people that they are good.

I doubt we will get Cole before the start of the season, but there is no way he will want to warm the bench for another season.

Come October and he has made a scattering of subs appearances, and is full time again in the Arsenal stiffs, Coppell should go calling and I think Cole, at that point, could be persuaded that the Palace first team is vastly superior to a pitchside seat at Highbury.

What we need to try and ensure is that we get some sort of first option.

Good point 'Strictly Palace'. If Arsenal sign another left back, (which I'm sure they'll do) then we don't necessarily need to spend money on him. I'm sure another loan agreement could be reached!
