I purchased this game 2-3 years ago, but got bored quickly as it took hours just to play a handful of games. Is this still the case with the newer versions?

I probably couldnt advise you as I spent hours on the old ones and I spend hours on the new ones too.. If they didnt grab you the first time around, Im not sure you will ever like it. You didnt say what version of the game you bought.. Im thinking CM2 ? CM3 is a lot more enhanced with more features but by the same token, could take longer to learn. I dont remember but I think CM2 didnt have the different speeds options during matches. In CM3 you can set it to several different speeds.
Also make sure your computer can handle it, and that you arent running a load of background leagues because either one of those can slow it down massively.
What exactly didnt you like? Sitting there while it says Processing please wait? Or the management that you have to do between games?
You can play a demo version at the website www.sigames.com, even play one match online in a java version.

Fair points SIP...It was cm3 and I was running it on my old machine(p233).I now have a p3 maybe I'll dust of the box and make sure the options are optimised for quicker games.
I'm off to try the demo.

Try to play it for at least 2 months (in the game). It's one of those gmes which you need to get into to like. Need any help and just ask one of us lot. :)
