After todays loss at St.James' Park and along with the injuries they got, do you think Chelsea are still on for winning a treble?

I heard Martin Tyler say that Man utd can close the gap at the top to 3 points before Chelsea next kick a ball in the league. They will have games in hand but could give Man Utd a pyscological boost!

i think they might be slipping up. They don't seem to be winning with much conviction these days and the mental side of things could be about to make things quite interesting..

The old "we only win 1-0" will stop workin for them soon. Especially if gallas, bridge and especially duff are out.

I think in the absence of Robben, they look slightly less effective in attack, however they are still a bloody good defensive unit and with players like Drogba, Lampard et al, they will always score. I don't see Man Utd coming back to win the league, but they will run them close.

This could be a lifeline for the teams chasing them, but frankly if the alternative is Man Utd winning then I'll be cheering Chelsea all the way across the finish line, no matter how much they're coughing and spluttering by then.
Completely disregarding how much worse it would be for the red scum to win, though, I really would love Chelsea to mess up, and they're by no means home and dry yet.

true.
The last thing i want is Man U winning it, especially Ferguson. But it would make it more interesting if the league was tighter. and if it was decided by a few points

I don't EVER want to see 'Sir' Alex winning anything again! I think Liverpool had their reign end in the 80's hopefully Man Utd dominance is over. Reckon Chelsea will win the league and stumble over the finish line Blackburn style without key players with all that money and the huge squad their team relys on certain players like Arsenal and Man Utd's teams do.
Oh and I don't see Chelsea winning on Wednesday without the key players at all so maybe the Double if Barca put the 2nd leg out of contention?

Would like to see Arsenal put in a stormer for the rest of the season and see them win it out of the three.

Exactly, I don't think I could stomach Man Utd winning the league (or anything for that matter).

1. Chelsea need to more than "slip up;" they need to totally melt down. The Arse did it a few seasons ago but Manure won't be lucky twice.
2. I loath Manure and hope they lose every game they play for the next six seasons.

The hope is that Chelsea slip up, Man Ure dont take advantage and Arsenal win the league. Both Man Ure and Sibneft Oil end up getting knocked out of the Champions league. Liverpool win the Carling Cup and finally a lower league 'nice' club win the FA Cup for the good of football, failing that I guess maybe Newcastle because I'd like to see Shearer get a trophy.
Mourinho quits and Baron Abramovich decides to take on Erikson and so ridding the national side of his incompetence.
Midway through next season Abramovich decides to walk away or gets arrested for whatever reason sending Chelscum into oblivion. By this point Man Ure are struggling due to the asset stripping that has taken place due to Glaziers take over.
We could even go one step further and hope that UEFA/FIFA get someone in charge who will sort out the current financial problems that are being created in the game making only a select few clubs rich and turning the premiership into another scotish league with only 3-4 clubs at best challenging at the top of the league every season. That will see a return to the footballing days that I grew up with whereby the likes of Forest, Palace and Norwich are able to finish in the top 3.

Um excuse me.
They played with 10 men for a good what 30 minutes? Not to mention playing a young right back in goal for injury time and still come out only 1-0 down!

Top Stuff.
Good call on Shearer/Newcastle as well. Shearer deserves some silverware before the end of his career for what he has achieved in the game.
JFH made a very good point on Sky today about if Shearer had moved to a Barca or a Madrid he would have won trophys and be known world wide, as a player of his statue should be.

Its why I admire him, he had the chance to move to other clubs where he would have won things but he chose to move to his hometown club.

Chelsea will win the league, but nothing else. Like every top team that goes on a good run, they have been somewhat overhyped. They have a way to go before they are as ultra-dominant as the media has been making out.

chelsea will win the league and the league cup. i think they'll fall at the qtr-finl or semi-final stage in the champions league.
not a bold prediction, but that's how i see it.
