I have never read a thread where there have been so many posts which have made me laugh out loud. If anyone hasn't read it through - go back to the beginning - back to where Maestro says he thought Delia was trying to offer someone out...

btw, what's your take on the rest of the season for the relegation candidates, and what do you think of our chances compared to the Saints?

You have the big advantage with 4 point lead and playing them at home. You both have us at home too. They will be massive games. I don't think we're down just yet. Started scoring now and Ashton looks brilliant. But have to get a draw at Saints and a win at your place probably and hope you don't beat Saints. Too much to ask for really and we just can't defend.

She's all right. I know some of the posters on here have had too much to drink on occasion, or talked rubbish about football, or even both.

Better a p*ssed Delia Smith than a sober Ken Bates (or Ron Noades). No contest:p

It is a little sad that it looks like we wont both be able to survive. I like Norwich and we've had a healthy friendly rivalry for a few years. Of course I'm not counting our chickens for one second yet.

I think the key for you has been your inability to stop haemorrhaging goals. Keeping no clean sheets for four months is simply not good enough, and I'm afraid that that's what will probably see you go down. You'll never have an easier opportunity to get a home win than last night - two nil up against a Man City side performing shockingly and looking like they were still on the break Keegan had given them. Yet your defence was again found wanting - the marking on the Sibierski goal was criminal in particular. You've left yourselves with far too much to do I feel.

Not that we're safe yet, and some of the gloating on here seems extremely premature and could be very foolish. I can't see Norwich escaping the drop, but we could yet still join them.

Delia lost the plot a bit but they are a well run club and she has done good things for them. Last night was something she will hope to put behind in exactly the same way that she moved on from being an Ipswich supporter. women hey!

I see no conceivable way back for Norwich now. Their inability to see the Man City game through will haunt them, and their defensive display was indicitive of a team that knows it has been found out. They looked so unbelievably poor at the back it was untrue.

It's a pity, not least because I like Norwich as a club but also because they actully look to be a very decent team going forward. They play excellent football and have entertained me every time I have watched them on TV. Unfortunately for them they lack the ability to win "ugly" and grind out a result under pressure. These traits have been a trademark of our season thus far, and this is what will I feel, ultimately keep us in the division.

I also can't see Norwich hanging onto Ashton if they go down. I know for a fact that Man City took a very close look at him for a long period of time and decided against signing him, but Keegan was full of praise for his performance last night. It wouldn't atall surprise me to see him at Man City next season.

But if Keegan leaves in the summer as widely predicted, Ashton may well end up elsewhere, though somewhere in the Prem I grant you.

Even a Palace fan seems to have had a pop on the 606 message board. Whoever you are 'Gabor's disco pants' Very funny.

Here is a selection of comments from our 606 message board users, ranging from those who admire her passion for the club to those who view her outburst as an embarrassment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Report: Norwich 2-3 Man City
Profile: Delia Smith >>>
I think she should resign on the back of that display at half-time. How can anyone take us seriously?
Robert

I don't really care what Delia does at half-time - it's her club, and without her we wouldn't even have TV cameras at the ground in the first place.
Victory In Munich

You will NEVER live it down, I'm afraid. Don't try and kid yourselves or anyone else that you won't be slaughtered FOREVER by supporters from REAL football clubs....
Roy

Ipswich fan here, Just wanted to let you no how uplifted and invigorated I feel after Delia's speech - not!!! You must be so pleased to have a chairman like her...
Big_Tyrone05

Without Delia Smith there would be no Norwich City - period - and you lot (Ipswich fans) would have to look to Colchester and Cambridge for your local rivalry. I am very proud of Delia Smith.
CupnDownin85

What on earth was all that about? Her passion for the club is obvious and cannot be knocked, but even I was embarrassed! I knew that the posters on the Norwich board would get a stuffing today because of that and guess what? They are!
LevenshulmeBlue

It was very cringe-making and it's one of the reasons I feel so sorry for Norwich.
Blue Stocking

I love Delia, since her books taught me to cook. It was good to see a human side of her - at least she is passionate about her team.

Delia - back in the kitchen luv.
Gabor's disco pants

That was the most surreal half-time I've ever seen.

We love you Delia we do. More passion than some of the players...
yella

I think she should stick to teaching people how to boil an egg in future.
iloveitreallyloveit

Good old Delia. At least her little rant at half-time took some of the attention away from Norwich's Sunday League defending.

I am sure in the cold light of day she would have done things differently, we have all been there at sometime or other. But you cant take away from the lady that she has helped save Norwich City F.C. and she has a real passion for the team and the game. Like us they are fighting for their premiereship lives and we all know what a difference the crowd behind a team can make. Indeed this coming Saturday and every game until the season ends our supporters have to be that twelth man also-so come on you lot lets be having you!

The people real fans should be knocking are not Delia who wears her heart on her sleeve as so many of us do when it comes to our football club, but the armchair Moan UTd. Liverpool Arsenal etc fans and the likes of Bloye, Risedale, certain agents and press who leech off the game and have no real love for it.

that remix was done by Ipswich fans. I take no credit but it is the only remix currently doing the rounds.

How about a song to 'I will survive'.

At first she was afraid she was petrified
Kept thinking she could never shout when sat by Michaels side
But then she spent so many nights thinking Worthy did it wrong
And she grew strong, once even broke into a song
And now she's in, a half time race
To grab the PA on the pitch with that glazed look upon her face
They should have put the mike on lock they would have thrown away the key
If they'd have known for just one second that she would let her mouth run free

She had a go, we had a draw
We'd turn it round now and with the blues we'd wipe the floor
Was she the one who planned to wave clear thought goodbye
Start with a mumble and slowly raise it to a cry
Oh no thought I, cos this was live
But as long as she could raise a groan she'll know were still alive
For she had all her thoughts to give and we had all the shame to live
But we'll survive, we will survive...hey hey

(Cue music)

We were two goals to the good just to fall apart
So she just had to vent her spleen and open up her heart
But when she sees it on TV she'll feel embarassed for herself
Canaries rocked, plucked-roasted drowned in laughing stock
But do you see...nobody knew
She's not that docile little cook beloved of dumpling stew
We hoped for points and at one time expected three
Then our defence let in two goals but it's the fault of you and me

She had a go, we had a draw
We'd turn it round now and with the blues we'd wipe the floor
Two yellow cards and so Matt Jonson said goodbye
We didn't crumble, we didn't lay down and die
Oh no thought I, cos this was live
If only we could keep the ball our chances were alive
But she had all her thoughts to give and we had all the shame to live
But we'll survive, we will survive...... Ohhhh!

She had a go, we had a draw
We'd turn it round now and with the blues we'd wipe the floor
Skuffed shot by Fowler and a goal to make you cry
We took a tumble, I want to crawl away and die
Oh no thought I....... (fade)

Admire your songwriting ability and sang froid acceptance. Good on you, Delia would be proud of you. She wouldn't have to say Lesbeavinu to NCFC Champs.

I'm only getting audio on the links.

She can't even say 'football supporters' correctly. It just seems to come out ' futspall supoorters'

Well, I like her.
She's put a load of her own boodle into her local club, supports her (gentlemanly) manager, has a sense of humour, has no pretensions, and likes a sup or two. Feel her pain lads ! :o

Delia certainly confirms that Norwich fans are the best "foosball" fans in the world. Well done, I say.

And I know where the fans were. They were in the stadium. I could see them behind her rocking, staggering form. Someone should tell her that's where they were.

There's only one Gordon Ramsay

You only sing when you're cooking

You're going down with the soufflé

She puts her own money in, she's passionate about her local team and she got pissed.

Bloody good luck to her. I'd rather that sort of 'chairman' than most of the the slime at other Premiership clubs.

DM, I've got it saved as an .mpeg. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

(It's 3Mb so too big to attach here and doesn't zip up much.)

(I turned off my P.M.s as for some reason I don't get the notifications I'm supposed to, and unexpected P.M.s can sit there for weeks without me knowing.)
