This may have been done before but I haven't noticed a thread on this.

The word Legend get's used all the time these days with footballers. From a CPFC point of view I'm sure many would say AJ, Freedman, Thomas etc. They are PALACE legends but not really to the rest of the world though. So, what do you have to do to be a true legend in the eyes of the majority within footie circles? Be a Bobby Moore, a Pele?

Who do you believe is a legend and who do you also think gets called a legend undeservedly?

Appearing on that programme that bird gleefully wants to watch in that flat where the trainee domino pizza chef insists on doing all the cooking ?

not a legend, yet anyway. maybe one day, can't see him being a legend outside barcelona at the moment though

even though he scored that goal against us in the last world cup i don't remember him doing much

in terms of current legends playing i would say maldini and zidane, IMHO

You can have legends on different levels, eg club legends, national legends, but I think Jim Cannon is searching out the criteria for an internationally recognised legend!? There aren't really too many of them, Pele obviously, Maradona for the right and wrong reasons, and I think Zidane will definitely become a legend. Maybe Henry.

The formation of a legend is connected to skill, goal-scoring, goal-stopping, longevity, off-field ambassadorial activities or notoriety.

GO AJ :lux:

Precisely. I want to hear the world waxing lyrical about AJ (as long as he doesn't score the goal that sends us down in the future)
