use either Thornton Heath (Whitehorse end), Selhurst (Holmesdale, bottom end) or Norwood (Holmesdale Rd/Park Rd).

Go to www.thetrainline.com (http://www.thetrainline.com) for times etc, they are all about the same distance away generally.

If you go from Waterloo you'll have to change at Clapham Junction to get onto the right service.

Go to Thornton Heath because then you can pop into Doneagles on the way to the ground for some tasty chips and curry sauce http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

From the station ? About 10 minutes, depending on how fast you trot. Maybe 15 if you're a slow-coach. (That applies to Thorton Heath or Selhurs, by the way)

10 mins briskly from Thornton Heath.

On no account stop at that dodgy Southern-Fried Chicken place on the way. It's empty because it's crap ! The cardboard box was the best bit.

And you'll be wanting Clapham Junction - Platform 15

i prefer Thornton heath over selhurst going to the game. its slightly further to walk but corals bang opposite station, wetherspoons next door.

returning home suggest selhurst back to cj.

Thornton heath is definitely the best bet!

Come out of the station cross the zebra and do a right, and pop into the Telegraph for a couple of pints of shandy before the game.......

Are Connex back to running to their revised timetable yet? (i.e. the published one with published cancellations). Or is it still a case of "turn up and if you're lucky there'll be a train in about 20 minutes"?

Yep, its Platform 15 from Clapham Junction to Thornton Heath, Selhurst (same train) or Norwood Junction (different train). Trains about every 15 minutes.

If you want to meet up with people go to Norwood as its easiest for the pubs. Cherry's is right outside, but its further to stagger.

If you want to go straight to the ground then Selhurst is about 5 minutes quicker to walk from than Thornton Heath. As you come to the top of the ramp from the platform turn sharp left into the back alley. Keep walking straight alongside the railway siding until you reach the Holmesdale Rd on the right.

On the way back there is usually a fast train (Clapham and Victoria only) at about 17:05 otherwise trains are about every 15 minutes to Clapham. As these fast trains don't stop at Thornton Heath then Selhurst is the best bet for the way back there's also more room on the train.
