I don't think that anyone seriously expects us to win all three.

I think that 6 points will keep us up.

i think 6 points will do to be honest, expect us to lose sat, but anything we get up there will be a bonus. IF we lose up there then by the 1 goal would be nice as we need to keep the goal difference in our favour, as it may come down to that

That would be remarkable - they would need to score a lot of goals!

I have been told by someone I know at Charlton that the police are giving our game there the highest security alert ever for a game of football at the Valley....

I hate to think how OTT it is going to be in terms of police presence. It was bad enough fot the cola cup game!!!

That means 6 from 6 needed in next two games then with Norwich and WBA dropping 4 pts a piece :(

Not sure about that, if we beat Newcastle I think we'd want a Southampton victory to finish Norwich off, then we go into the last home game to win to keep us up......! Unless of course we loose 5-0 to the clowns and Norwich beat Fulham 5-0...doh I can't cope :sob:

1-0 win at Newcastle
and I think we will finish the job at selhurst the following saturday 2-0

I really hope it dont go down to the last day. I think a loss at newcastle and two wins from saints and chalton will give us a chance...not sure whether we will stay up with that, but who knows.

Palace never make life easy.
Southampton beat Norwich, but lose to us and Man Utd
West Brom beat Pompey, but lose to Arsenal and Man Utd
Norwich beat Fulham, but lose to Southampton and Birmingham
Leaves us to beat Southampton, but lose to Newcastle and Charlton.

Everyone gains three points, and we stay up by virtue of the odd goal difference.

That should be enough to make everyone sweat a bit! :)

I don't think Norwich are going to lie down and if I was one of their fans I'd be thinking seven points from 3 games is definitely on. They are in good form and even seem to be getting the breaks if last saturday is anything to by. Even if they lose one of their last three games we'd still need to win at either Charlton or Newcastle to be sure. I know a draw at St James would be a good result as far as the game itself goes, but it isn't enough to keep us out of danger. We need an almighty effort on saturday and we have been given a chance as they are under strength and will be playing their third game in 7 days - we need to take it.

WBA just drew with Blackburn. We're still in 17th and our fate is in our own hands now. I just hope the lads can close out the last 3 games on a high note.

I think there is a very good chance that Norwich will win all 3 games. I'd certainly take their run in over ours. They are in a very good run of form, and if it hadn't been for screwing things up vs us, they'd have taken 15 from 15. Unless Fulham aren't safe by the last game, a vanishingly unlikely proposition, Norwich will be likely winners there, and Brum are pretty poor. We really need Soton to beat Norwich, but they seem to be in freefall so I can't see it.
Would be nice if Bruce Jules and Clinton could do us a favour however! The trouble with us is we are appalling away, and very inconsistent, whereas Norwich are on a roll. I just hope we have 3 performances like that vs Liverpool in us, rather than 3 as against Blackburn.

I am seriously concerned about Norwich. I think the Southampton game could be a draw but seven points looks very possible and in fact all three of their games are definitely winnable. Of course we don't know how their nerves will hold up if we also pick up points to keep up the pressure. Also, the possible saving grace is that while they have seriously improved form overall they clearly haven't totally sorted out their defensive vulnerability (as we saw at Selhurst). But, for anyone who thinks it couldn't happen I'd say just one word - Oldham!!

I'm not convinced Fulham are safe though BTW

We must assume we need to win all three games. Otherwise, the Oldham nightmare could be back to haunt us, because Norwich may well win all theirs.

Norwich are away twice in their last three games though and they haven't actually won once away from home all season.......so far!

ANDYEAGLE
27-04-2005, 08:25 AM
The best result for us is a Saints victory over Norwich which I think will happen. We can then beat Saints at Selhurst and with a bit of luck may only need a point in the other two games to survive. What we dont need is a heavy defeat at Newcastle which will affect our GD.

Norwich have a habit of leaking goals....as we know.

They are good going forward, but a bit lightweight in the middle and at the back...A fair amount of flair in the middle, but will struggle in a physical dogfight.

We are best positioned in my view...tigerish midfield and the irrepressible AJ to wreak havoc with his pace
