Ninja or Thorn for Cannon and Humphrey for Hinshlewood and I'd be the same.

No.

How can this be an 'all-time' team? Were Palace formed in 1975?
It's the best team of the last 30 years.

Actually, it's not even that - I'd replace Coleman and Cannon with Thorny and Ninj.

And Salad? - is that a joke?

Gilbert instead of Coleman, Peter Taylor for Salako

Great as AJ is, there is no way you could play Wright without Bright, without question one of the greatest striking partnerships!

The reason it weighted in favor of more recent players is obviously because they are the ones people remember, im only gonna vote for players from my lifetime, secondly as the poll was conducted on the interned the average age of people voting will be younger than say if the poll was conducted at the stadium in person surely?

saying that, it seems pretty good to me, would probably be pushing for europe if it was in the prem today

Oh here we go again!!!

Most people on here don't remember seeing Kember/Taylor etc. Or even Peter Simpson in the 20's. It's a reflection of the age of supporters voting on the site. Would it make some of you wrinklies (and I'm 36 myself!!!) happier if it said "Best Palace Team Since Around 1980 And Not Forgetting Those Who Were Obviously Good Players In Their Own Right In Their Own Era However Since We Didn't Actually See Them Play Full Matches Is It Fair To Vote For Them?"

My thoughts exactly.
Surely it has to Peter Simpson in for Wrighty or AJ (both very similar)

Nice one.

Even taking your point into account, however, I still find the selection of Coleman strange.

Incidentally, David, if we ever have a poll to decide the Most Consistently Sensible poster on the BBS, you're getting this wrinklie's vote. Bet that's ruined your day.:p
