sorry if theres already a thread on this but what was everyones moment of the season? i have a few

aj scoring against norwich at carrow road to start off his premiership campaign - carrow road erupted - naaarwich fans after the game said we nearly blew the roof off!

aj scoring against liverpool + dowie punch against liverpool - aj ending his open play goal drought and what a goal!

trashing wba 3-0. i was positive that they'd be down by christmas :o

at the time ventola's goal against southampton was just unbelievable - i've never gone so mental after a goal

equalising against chelsea- awesome!

but my moment of the season was aki's goal against arsenal right after they though they had killed us off! what a moment!

20-05-2005, 10:52 AM
Top few would include:

The final whistle away at Birmingham

Ventola scroing against Soton

AJ scoring that pen against Charlton

Winning our first game of the season

The dart that made it into the penalty box at Noocastle

but out of them I would take the win at Birmingham - just to ram it down Judas's throat!!

The win and celebrations post match away at Birmingham were sweet

20-05-2005, 11:32 AM
Kolkka's dive in front of the ref at Liverpool.

20-05-2005, 11:34 AM
Kirįly saving Rooney's penalty at Old Trafford. Also scoring twice there!

20-05-2005, 11:35 AM
getting six points from birmingham, by nothing but AJ goals

20-05-2005, 11:36 AM
Aki's goal against Fulham back in October, gave people hope I think.

20-05-2005, 11:37 AM
So many, but all of the above, and Dougie coming on a scoring at Clowns for me. Also Kollka's goal at scouseland & Aki's last minute goal at Baggies.

Hysterical! Especially when Liverpool put the ball straight where he should have been instead of pratting about and scored from the chance created.

Fitz Hall's goal againts WBA. That was wicked :p

20-05-2005, 11:57 AM
The atmosphere at homes games this year has been the best for many years - notably Arsenal , Man Utd, Liverpool.

In previous years I've often felt the crowd have helped take us straight back down but this year, despite the same end result, the home crowds have never given up hope and got on the teams back even when the team has struggled & have been excellent all year!

Just need to try and keep it up for next season!!! :p

Aki's goal against the Scum at the Bridge.

20-05-2005, 12:12 PM
Showing up the toon fans was fun.

Beating Brum twice!

Thrashing Spurs after Jol was slating Dowie in the papers. Oh how I laughed!:moo:

I saw that. Was that why there was a big cheer when it landed? I thought it may have been, but wasn't sure at the time.
I remember it being up in the air for absolutely ages.

20-05-2005, 12:17 PM
Has to be the ecstacy of Ventola's goal and the pain of the equaliser a few moments later - ditto against Charlton.

Supporting Palace has always been about highs and lows and both these games we got it in the same match :(

20-05-2005, 12:23 PM

And in particular that thing he did when he picked ball up inbetween his legs and switched it around like a basketball player, cant remember who it was against but it was class and very funny.

Last season it was the gesture Butterfield made when he was subbed at Cardiff - geeing up the fans and the rest of the team. That was the moment I knew we were never going to give that game up. This season it was a similar moment, when we kicked off again just after Arsenal had scored at SP. AJ made the same sort of defiant gesture and I knoew we would come back and score. Sure enough a couple of minutes later AJ put Aki in to do just that. Brilliant stuff - Bouncebackability personified!!

Late, late goal at WBA - it all seemed so sweet at the time, and I went chuffing mental.
Not as mental, thought, as when Tommy banged in an equally late equaliser at Watford back in the day. And what a p1ss-up afterwards!

20-05-2005, 12:58 PM
That moment when Aki scored away at Chelski.

Just to be able to sing "You're not singing any more" at those jumped up glory hunters, on their own turf.

This is mine.

It meant that we were unbeaten against Birmingham sides (wins and draws against villa and baggies, two wins against blues:hi: ) which is vitally important for me up here.

ventola against saints, seemed like destiny for a while....

Aki against the Arse... absolutely fantastic. It was the moment that made me think we really had a chance. What an atmosphere. I'll never, ever forget that match.

Ventola against Soton. Did you see his face... absolute joy.. followed by a big snog with JH.

AJ against Liverpool. I managed to jump up and down for about 30 secs, screaming, before I began to blackout

Happy Days

21-05-2005, 01:00 AM
Sorry... forgot one !

Kollka taking the piss out of Baros at Liverpool. Quality :)

(Yes, I've just watched the clip from the Palace in the Prem thread)

21-05-2005, 01:03 AM
Wayne and Hughsey passing the ball back and forth against liverpool.
That was quality piss takeing.

But the Aki goal against Arsenal was fantastic.

21-05-2005, 01:03 AM
aki v arsenal.

21-05-2005, 05:15 AM
Final whistle at Brum and the reception that AJ got there too
Aki's equaliser against Arsenal (that day made me so proud of Palace!)
Outsinging the Geordies at St James' and their appreciation of our support.
Equaliser at White Hart Lane and our subsequent victory over them at SP including us singing "Routledge, Routledge what's the score ?".

21-05-2005, 05:17 AM
Oh ! and the fans moment of the season..........

Being on our feet the whole game at Highbury in the freezing cold singing non-stop "6-5, were gonna win 6-5" to the utter bemusement of the c*ck end !

22-05-2005, 10:39 AM
the second half of the man u home game. the crowd was fantastic and it was really unbeleivable we hung on until the end. thrashing spurs 3-0 was also brilliant

Dougie's goal for me last week, I really thought we was going to do it. Plus Dougie is one of my favourites.

I think the highlight of the season for me was AJ and Kit attending a young Palace supporters memorial.

It showed to me that our players and staff do care about the supporters

22-05-2005, 04:07 PM
Gotta be Aki's goal against Arse. What a way to reply to their goal! :)

22-05-2005, 04:31 PM
Aki's goal v Arsenal (and Lakis's chance just after)

The whole of the Southampton game, including Rob Fox's build-up.

The Misfit
22-05-2005, 04:58 PM
Lots of footballing moments stand out, but for me the most memorable bits are the incidental little things like:

The bloke who stood up and sang solo at the Man U fans at Old Trafford, "Back home in Surrey, we'll see you back home in Surrey..."

At the same match the bloke who yelled at a warming up Phil Neville, "OI, NEVILLE. TAKE THAT MASK OFF!"

Rob Fox just before kick off v Norwich, "Could I have your attention please... COME ON YOU EAGLES!"

22-05-2005, 05:05 PM
Fitz's goal against Southampton was a great moment. What a goal and you could really see how much it meant to him. I really thought we were going to survive when that went in as well, for all of 45 seconds at least.

Ventola's goal v saints was a great moment and for a short moment actually had me thinking that we'd cracked it.

24-05-2005, 11:43 AM
Ventola's goal and celebration.
AJ giving it to the Villa fans.
AJ getting called up for the England squad. - What a feeling.
Every week we got a good result Gary Lineker would ask Alan Hanson "so that was a good result for Palace, are you STILL writing them off"
Anything that Gabor did - Van Nistelrooy and rolly polies

has to be WBA game where we went to F3K - thanks Paf

24-05-2005, 11:49 AM
Kiraly attempting to pull Van Nistelrooy's shorts down just before a corner at Selhurst. Linesman missed it completely!!

24-05-2005, 11:57 AM
Doogie off the bench - always does Palace proud when it matters
Aki's goal against Arsenal
Ventolas goal and Celebration
Birmingham Away
Man U Away was also fun
AJ's goal at Villa - 'Youshutup'!
Kollkas goals against Liverpool and Naarwich
Norwich Away right at the beginning - Rotledges through ball for the goal

for me though

F3K went mental when we got the equaliser - great night, If only there had been some cameras there, then everyone could have seen the passion that all of us palace fans have!

Still looking back now we were 5 minutes from the 3 points.....story of the season.

Aki's goal against Arsenal
Three goals in 11 minutes against Tottingham
Nicola's goal
Taking the 2-1 lead against Clowntown

24-05-2005, 01:01 PM
There are loads but the most recent one was Fitz Hall's against Southampton. In an absolutely massive game against his old club, he gets a hold of the ball and swivels to brilliantly curl home a beauty, like a true centre forward, having been a rock at the back.

I had many daydreams the week before about One Size scoring a header from a corner (ridiculous given Super Wayne's delivery, I know, LOL!!) and how cool it would be, so to see him actually doing it in such style was more special, especially as it gave the lead and real hope of winning the match and survival.....for about a minute, LOL!!!

Cheers mateyboys,
