BBS Betting Masters – June champions Cup

Knock-out competition then (this month only, back to league format next month).
14 participants (Taken 13 automatically from last months competition) and one new one, Drunk eagle.
Round – participants – best - days
1. round – 14 - 15 bets over 12 days
2. round – 8 – 10 bets over 6 days (7 winners, + the best loser)
3. round - 4 - 10 bets over 6 days
4. round – 2 – 10 bets over 6 days
Rules are as follows
..
6 Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 horse and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.
7 Players must quote where they're getting their prices.
8 Singles and upwards accepted.
9 For boxed multis and bets such as Yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.
10. E/W bets are counted as a single bet in the masters, which means 10 points / 2
11. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than European soccer/tennis.
12. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling results where possible.
13. When an event has started it is not allowed to edit one's own bets/posts.
14. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that if you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You can’t shop around for the highest odds and put them together.

And seeing as fredman "has been banned" (and haven't posted for a while) from the BBS, then I've got no problems with a possible sub.
But I think we'll have to give him until Sunday to join. That would leave the sub. with 7 days of betting in the 1.round..

Gutted about bet 7 last night - Whinhill House - pipped on the bloody line at 9/2 and lost by a head and as it was in my yankee with Dune Melody and Sleeping Indian, it would have been a nice touch.

Thanks Stig, sorry about the confusion...to be honest didnt really look into the masters until earlier today...had a busy first 5 days of June.
Was elated last night.....my favourite team in Germany got promoted to 2nd bundesliga yesterday by winning away from home in Mainz (A), so very very happy....team is called Offenbacher Kickers or OFC for short....so I hope for a similar start (no pun intented:) ) that Start had for you this season....:p

Bets 9 and 10 need Di Marco to haul back 2 shots on the last hole as that group didn't finish, if that ends up a tie will make it a bit tricky to calculate but a bit unlikely to happen

Not sure on the rules regarding odds, but ahead of tonight's eviction (which is still 3 hurs away) the odds on the above have changed. If it is within the rules to use these new odds they are:

Probably won't make any difference as the reason they have lenghthened is that there is a clear 1.18 favourite to be evicted, but it would be interesting to clarify the rules!

I'm fairly sure that the Masters is like any bookie as in you have to take the odd's as they are when you placed your bet or the SP (which doesn't apply in your case). Personally as it's me that you're up against I have no problem with you taking the odd's that you've just quoted (especcially as it's against a 1.18 favourite and with these things the bookies are normally spot on) but ultimately it's not up to me. :)

We try and use the same rules as the bookies use. That means that unless it’s a SP bet, the odds is the one posted when the bet is made* (*published on the Masters thread).
Of course as Drunken eagle says perhaps not a big deal in this circumstance, but It would open up for so many different scenarios if we differ from the normal rules of betting (14. The bets must be possible to do in real life..).sorry..

Yep. That's the trouble with these short-priced multi bets - there'll always be one stupid result in there to let you down. That's why I always look for the value bets - don't win as often but when you do, there's a nice pick up involved.

We had a debate on some thread or other recently about how bent racing was.
I was in the bookies yesterday when a guy strolled in, went up to the counter and asked what price a horse was that was running in the afternoon. Bloke behind the counter said 20/1.
The punter said "well, this'll pay for my Ascot week". He was that confident.
I had a cheeky look at the race in question and the only horse that was 20/1 was called Fromsong. Having had a gander at the form I decided there was no way the horse could win - it had been struggling in similar class races for more than 2 years, being beaten out of sight.
It won by a head, at 20/1.

Sounds about right Finbar, all bets must be possible to do in real life...
Rosenborg had some "luck" last night against HamKam btw. HamKam getting both there central defenders injured after only 4 .minutes for example..
