It has been decreed by powers higher than oneself, that we shall make a right prat of oneselves at the aforementioneed fixture.
It would be desirable to bring along something inflatable (be original, all the sexual items are already covered - oo er!) to prance about with in the away end.
This aint my idea I'm just spreading the word.

Just to clarify, the 6ft fag is a cigarette, and not an inflatable Brighton fan.

I've heard this one too! Someone mentioned it at fans nite a couple of weeks ago. I'm bringing a 6foot long inflatable fag!
I've also heard that for the Forest away game we are to wear hats - very Anfield '92 if you ask me!

LOL Dorking!
What hat did you wear to Anfield in '92?
That seems like yesterday...8 years, my God I'm old.

Best use of a hat Anfield '92 must go to that bloke in the Philharmonic with an upturned puppadum basket on his head.

Apparently the inflatables thing is now NOT happening at Grimsby, after all. Apologies folks.

I simply wore my 80's ski hat, but with some yellow and green ribbons attached ('cos of our Brazil kit). There were several really fine efforts - fedoras, red indian head dresses, sombreros, cowboy hats etc etc.
For the hat thing to work you really need the two fanzines to publicise it. Eagle Eye was the catalyst for loads of these types of things. (i also remember the following year bring a scarf to anfield - there was loads of scarf twirling!!!)

Quite right Dorking, about time we had another silly but simple gimmick for an away game.
Thinking caps on, chaps, to come with a suitably daft idea. Make sure its easy to participate it (remember even Eagle Eye had a false start with the glove puppet thing), but most of all supremely silly.
Also we need to pick a suitable date, but please bear in mind that to get the fanzines to partcipate fully it'll need to be after the 20th Jan, which kinda rules out Forest.
I take it you'd be up for this too, Grim?

So, not hats or scarves then.(?)
Paper aeroplanes when the teams come out ?(bit different to balloons!)
or what about a single colour which everyone is encouraged to wear (I'm sure you've all seen the Dutch in orange, and the Swedes in Yellow)
thinking out loud - what about all wear yellow? It is the away colour after all - best to do it when there would be a reasonable away following, plus when the Palace players would also definitely be wearing the yellow away kit - a sea of yellow at Pompey on 24th March.
Neil any other ideas??? (I'm sure someone can do better!)

I did submit a couple of ideas but they don't seem to have come up on screen so here goes again....
First - instead of the standard Palace balloon launch when the players come out, how about paper aeroplanes - it would be quite funny - 2000 paper aereplanes - a spin on the balloon/ticker tape old ideas.
Or... how about everyone wear YELLOW at Pompey in March? The Dutch fans look good when they all wear orange..There would be a good away following at Portsmouth, enough time to organise it and it is not too hard to do - most people have one item that is yellow, be it coat, hat,t shirt etc...the lads would probably be playing in yellow too, and fans could be encouraged to each bring yellow balloons?
IDEAS????

James,
I was in the party at the Indian restaurant the night before where said basket originated. (but had nothing to do with its theft officer) As there was only one basket another hatless fan present made a special trip to the big department store in the morning and had the local shop assistants in hysterics as he tried on all the lampshades for size. That was in the Phil as well later!
