Some of you may recall last season's pre-season attempts to bring back the non verbal clapping songs of the 1970'S. It caused much hilarity at the time, but we never quite got it off the ground.

For those who missed it, it was:

Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap,
clap-clap-clap-clap-clap. etc

I therefore suggest that it's about time we recalled the twirly scarf song of the mid-1970'S, bringing your scarves back into the ground as an additional accompanyment.

For those of who don't recall it-the scarf is twirled in the air above your head to the tune of:

Eh-who, et
Eh-who-et
Eh-who-eh-who-eh-who-et
Eh-who-eh-who-eh-who-eh-who.

It was extremy popular, colourful and different to what most were doing.

Who says every tune has to have a meaning?

Does anyone else share the same memories? recalls the tune? Wishes to give it a go next season?

I am well up for a twirly scarf song!!!!!!!

Can't work out the tune from your 'lyrics' though ;)

errrr..................................not doing it for me just yet.

Would prefer a tune for it to be sung to. At the moment I sound like a neanderthal walrus.

No, can't say that I remember that one! A few chants that did'nt seem to catch on but were fun:

Rose Royce's "Car Wash" : Clap-clap, clap-clap,clap, clap - PALACE!

Mungo Jerry's "Long Legged Woman Dressed in Black" became :

Red and Blue, Red and Blue, Red and Blue...
Red and Blue, Red and Blue, Red and Blue-Blue-Blue!

with maybe a 'DOWIE' at the end. Everyone who knows the muppets tune will realise that it would easily work, be unique (?) & could be quite catchy. Bit tricky at first, but try it a couple of times and see.

Much silliness akin to The Bruce Dyer song (to Hoots Mon) all those years ago!

then gonzo gets to blow into his trumpet at the end!
