All of a sudden Im not addicted to Championship Manager. I first noticed this last weekend when I started going to the pub and drinking pints.
I met people too and talked to them without thinking about my formation tactics. I even tried a pick up line or two that didnt involve thinking about stamina, positioning or dribbling ratings (well you know what I mean).
People - what I can I do to halt this disturbing trend and not getting the hours of screen time joy I am throwing away by going to the beach instead and playing volleyball with Baywatch beauties? I too, am shocked and repentant and will force myself to sit through original Star Trek re-runs in order to regain my perspective on life.

Maybe CM2 is just a winter thing?

I know how you feel, but I've quit the game, and given away my copy.
After 2 UEFA Cup Wins, 4 League Cups, 3 Premier League Titles and a Champions League Final by 2015, as Rushden, I've decided I've had enough.
I was just playing it for the sake of it, and spending far to much time on it when I could be doing other things.
So no more CM for.

Yeah I'm sort of hoping I'll be 'cured' one day and I can return to the life I had before that fateful day last year when I was given 99/00 for my birthday.
Hopefully once I've also conquered the football world with Palace I too can quit.Winning div 1 and the league cup recently was a start although it's taken the best part of a year to even begin to master the game.
Oh well better go - got a big game to play against West Ham in the cup!

Congratulations to Moontoad for posting the 1000th post in the new CM forum.
Seriously I have lost all interest in CM. This has happened before and after years of extensive study I have deduced it is inversely related to Palace's current success. They do well, I play less. They do badly - I decide I can do better and sacrifice my social life for a worthy cause.

I have spells when I am always playing it and then I don't play it for months. I haven't played it for ages, but with the school holidays comin up I expect I'll be on it night and day.

So Steve, on that criteria, why have you stopped playing??? I thought the time lag was just a few hours. Has news of us avoiding relegation by the skin of our teeth for two years not reached Pheonix yet?
If that's success, I wish I had your cheery outlook on life!;)

:P
Dont ruin my dreams! We're having our best pre-season tour for a while (so far anyway) I dont know why but Im just much more optimistic. Smith is gone, we have money to spend (allegedly) and I like the players we have. I also have a lot of confidence in Bruce. Compared to the dark days of administration things are rosy now.

Thanks Steve! I'm greatly honoured.
Guess if I get to post the 2000th post I'll still be addicted!

While im here, if a CM disk where to be broken, could i buy another copy, and use it in an existing save game, even if it were a different version ie. 3.81??
