26 year old versatile midfielder, scored 29 goals from midfield for Hull City last year. Do people think he would make a realistic target to strengthen the midfield still further?

He's also from Northern Ireland, so he might be tempted to play for Dowie, any thoughts?

promoted with hull, in the same league as us next year. Maybe if they had not been promoted we would of been able to. Hull wont sell, and if they did it would be way to expensive. Would like him but i cant see it happening.

Couldn't find any other thread about him, apologies if there is. I reckon we could get him for a fee, but I don't think it'd be that unrealistic. He might feel Palace have a better chance than Hull of getting promoted come May.

ShippAhoy, he's definately a midfielder, anyone seen him play?

I think Hull will make the Premiership in the next couple of years any way. They have massive support and a quality stadium. Why would he want to leave them?

Didnt really score all those goals from midfield! He played up front all through 1st half of season and was only drafted as a left winger due to injuries and poor player performances.

He's an attacking midfielder/striker!

Because maybe he's fed up of living in a dreary backwater and wants to move to a civilised city to join a club with better immediate prospects?

We are a step up from Hull, that's for sure.

We are a step up from Hull, that's for sure. I agree Jay, A new stadium, a couple of mil spent and promotion to the CCC does NOT make Hull a big club. People forget we are expecting to go back up if all goes well this season. Hull hope to stay up theres a huge difference.

Disagree, Hull believe they are destined for the premiership and are prepared to invest to get there.

That is why they hhave Peter Taylor as manager and why he stays year after year because of the 'vision' he has bought into and the money he has at his disposal!

I'm sure they "believe" that they will go up sometime soon, but it will take a lot of investment in that team to get to the prem; players such as Ian Ashbee and Junior Lewis (lol) will be cannon fodder at this level. They have a chairman who has spent a few quid but whether he will ever invest in them to the extent that our SJ has, remains to be seen. People seem to think that they have this amazing fanbase but that is also untrue. They have a pretty faireweather fanbase (unlike ours) who will swell their attendences to 20k plus when times are good, and will desert them when times are bad leaving them with sub 10k attendences.

Peter Taylor has also only satyed there because he's had no offers to go anywhere better. He would have quit them for England under 21's if a last minute accomodation hadn't been reached.

If we want Elliot them I don't see why we can't get him. I personally think that he would be a good signing for the right price.

Oi !! I live about 10 miles from Hull ! Don't make me start the "I'll take Yorkshire Over South London any day of the week" argument again !

Stuart Elliott played as a left winger, and is a midfielder, always has been, regardless of what anyone else says. He lives in the same village as I do, and is a staunch god-botherer.

A lot of Hull City fans are currently worried that Peter Taylor (along with his 4 new "very average signings" will be found out this season, as an excellent lower division, but a poor Championship manager.

According to my reliable 'Sources', Mr Taylor's four signings are Messrs Leite,Andrews,Woodhouse and McPhee and whether these laddies prove acquisuitions beneficial to the club is a matter for 'conjecture' at this juncture and the passage of time will be the 'Judge'.

Apropos 'Hull', I might be 'Way off radar' but I am led to believe that the city is the largest in England NOT to have 'Graced' a club in the top division of the league.

Elliot will not be sold by Hull - also think he ma be found out in this division. Adam Boyd could be a better (and far cheaper) bet in my opinion

I'd have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of Boyd. Everytime I have seen him he has looked fairly average, and he was non-existant when they played us last season.

I thought the seaweed were after Boyd with that fruit-machine cash they picked up.

My 'sources' have confirmed that in the past the 'Laddie' has let himself down and had been a tad 'Wayward' off the field of play. Certainly a couple of years ago his then manager 'Neale Cooper' was of the opinion that the laddie's 'attitude' was in need of improvement and that he needed to produce far more consistently. Thankfully 'Boyd' appears to have heeded the erudite advice and his attitude is much improved at this juncture. Finally, 'Boyd' has always been a supporter of 'Hartlepool'.

:p ;) ;)

My ex knew him and his wife well. He's a left winger who can played up front, but has been playing left wing almost all season, and yes scored 29 goals.
He's very good in the air, and very strong. Think he'll be good in this divison, but having watched him a few times would doubt he'd be prem standad.
Hull wont sell him, and also he wont come. He's a very commited christian (he always points to the sky after he scores) and member of a protestent church, that has three main churches, one in belfast one in motherwell (his former club) and one in Hull.
When Hull came in for him he took it as a sign from god that he should play for them. So we would either have to have a word with god, or get his church to branch out to south norward ;) :p
