Oh how ******* great is that. I'm on a course next week that I simply cannot get out of so even if I can get there - there's no way I can take the kids along. B0ll0cks!
I'm already hoping for another postponement.
And another thing - why the f4ck should we be expected to play Sunderland 3 days before another league game?!!!
PISSED OFF!

Why not? Alan Smith said that he hoped Sky would cover the match.
BTW, I assume my ticket is valid for the rescheduled match?
Sky will only cover the match if it's on Wednesday, however, Smiffy says if that's the case he wants the Friday game called off.
Thats my understanding of the matter, the club stand to lose 100K if the game is not televised. Our staff Party is on Wednesday and the BBs lunch pre-match on the Friday.
Oooops.

Do we qualify for free FA cup tickets like all the Sunderland fans who made the journey yesterday.
Or is it another case of blatant Teamism?

Well I hope they make their minds up soon !
Personally - I don't mind if Blackburn is postponed for now - but I can see why others might not be happy.
Don't see why it should make any difference to Sky what day it is.

Sky have already scheduled Orient - Northwich for the Tuesday on sky2, but don't have anything planned for the Wednesday.

Exactly ... and it would not be the first time that they have had Live games on 2 different channels.
BUt then again we are not from Manchester, Liverpool, North or West London are we? http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/wink.gif

Four, if you count Sky Sports Extra (which doesn't always show interactive).

I imagine they have commitments to advertisers etc and projected ciewing figures. If they stick the Palace game on at the same time, they might end up with no viewers at all for the other game.

I couldn't give a flying **** whether it's on Sky or not. Bunch of parasites. But they'd better not cancel the Blackburn game because me and the kids can definitely make that one!

I haven't picked my ticket up for last night from the 'magic blue portakabin'. If it isn't valid for next Tuesday then I am going to go ballistic.

Tell me about it! I did'nt bother walking up there when I heard it was postponed, it would be typical that it is no longer valid.

really irritating that we seem to be having to tie in to what sky want to do.. hope they don't cancel the blackburn game because it feels like we're giving in to them...
how many people will be watching the orient game anyway! doubt we'll take away too many of their viewing figures for that!

Personally I hope we don't re-schedule for Tuesday because that's supposed to be our office Christmas bash and we can't move it to any other day.
We should play the game on Wednesday (so that we can have our party and we get the cash from Sky - we can use it to build a roof http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif)
Move the Blackburn game to next year - the last Friday before Christmas was always a **** date to have the game anyway.

I'm buggered. I couldn't believe my lucky stars when Wombat phoned me early yesterday morning offering me his ticket, as he had to jet off to Wales for a few days. I'll have to give it back now, leaving me ticketless again, with three sides of the ground "all but sold out", or so I heard yesterday.
Kevin T, fear not, for I have a spare ticket next to my goodself in Holmesdale Block C.
I thank you.

Sky think they set the footballing agenda at all levels. Their arrogance is breathtaking.
It reminds me of a West Brom v Sunderland game I went to a couple of years ago. The ref was told to wait for a signal from the OB producer before allowing the game to kick off because Sky were on an ad break. Disgraceful.

That happens for every live game and is the reason you always see the players in the centre circle and the ref, looking towards the touchline.
It's also why some games kick off LATE !
Confirmed tuesday. bugger.
Suits me as I,m out of the country as of Saturday week so I able to cram in another game before I go.

B*llocks.
So that means a game with no television cash on Tuesday AND the game on the stupidly-scheduled last-Friday-before-Christmas.
Load of old pants.
And the weather will be probably be atrocious next Tuesday too so it'll be rained off. Again.
I'm such a whinger http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

Yet in The Evening Standard this afternoon the headline is "Palace to play 2 games in three days in order not to lose TV fee" - with Sunderland game on Wednesday!!!!!

Recorded message on Box Office phoneline states that it it TUESDAY. So that's final then!
Standard do indeed say it's Wednesday.
-------------------------------------
Crystal Palace will play two games in three days next week so they do not miss out on a £100,000 broadcast fee for their Worthington Cup quarter-final against Sunderland.
The tie - scheduled to be shown live on Sky - was postponed last night because of a waterlogged pitch at Selhurst Park and Palace chose to reschedule it for next Wednesday, so it could still be televised.
They were given the option of playing a day earlier, but that meant losing the £100,000 broadcast fee because Leyton Orient's FA Cup second round replay against Northwich Victoria is being shown.
Manager Alan Smith's team entertain Blackburn in a First Division game two days after the quarter-final with a busy Christmas and New Year fixture list to follow. A spokesman for Worthington Cup organisers the Football League said: "When a tie is postponed we try to play it as soon as possible afterwards, so that it does not cause fixture problems later in the season."
However, Smith was disappointed at the prospect of playing two games in a week.
He said: "We have got a bit of a pile-up and asking fans to come to so many games in such a short space of time is too much as it gets expensive.
"I think we should be allowed to play it another time completely rather than when the authorities want it played.
"The players have had to cancel their planned Christmas bonding trip to Ireland now.
"I suppose we will now know who we would meet in the semis, but because we are on a good run it does not really matter when it is played."
Last night's tie was postponed less than two hours before the scheduled kick-off when referee Alan Wilkie ruled the waterlogged pitch unplayable.
England's new chief scout Tord Grip travelled to Selhurst Park for the match and was among around 20,000 people expected to attend.
All tickets from last night's match will be valid for next Wednesday, but that will be of little consolation to the Sunderland supporters who made the long journey south.
The Premiership club have offered them free entry to the FA Cup third round tie against Palace at the Stadium of Light in January as compensation.

How about it rains so much on Weds (20th) and Thurs (21st) that the Blackburn match is then postponed and has to be rescheduled for 23rd (or later, as it does not matter that much when it is).

Question: Why are we playing Blackburn on Friday, and not Saturday, like most of the other Div 1 teams? Are we supposed to be on Sky on Friday as well?
