On SSN, Anelka is looking like moving to Newcastle. Looks like another avenue for AJ may be closing, at least until Christmas when Anelka looks for his next move.

This is an odd move. Souness has stressed how much he wants to get rid of some bad personalities in the Newcastle dressing room and does this by offloading Bellamy and Robert and then he decides to bring in Anelka....

Souness talks through his arse.

I am amazed that any club is interested in him.

I think it's Sourness' way of saying he's such a great manager, he can sort out a player far better managers have failed to do so in the past. I like Newcastle and feel sorry they have an idiot for a manager.

If Anelka goes to Newcastle won't that make Manchester City want AJ more?

I think Stuart Pearce will want 2 or 3 players if he sells SWP, so I can't see him splashing out 8m on AJ.

exactly, the press have stated that he'll only get about 10million if SWP were to go.

Maybe Souness just loves Newcastle being a soap opera instead of a football club. So much money, such large support and yet such a complete waste year after year.

Anelka will score them goals but it ultimately won't get their club anywhere. Look at how Man City improved when they didn't have his goals but instead improved there shape and team ethic something Newcastle have never had.

After everything over the last 12 months I'm amazed he's interested in a player like that. Anelka = trouble.

My mistake, I was under the impression Anelka was at loan in Turkey and hadn't moved permenantly.

It took a manager like Wenger to get the best out of Anelka and he hasn't ever really regained that form since he was sold from Arsenal. Can anyone really see him being a sucess if he moves to Newcastle? He will either really like Souness and work well under him or more likely the personallities will clash and he will be shipped out by the end of the season.

Lets be honest it's personalities like AJ that they need not another sulking pre-madonna. But from the viewpoint of our little world it's good. Just concenred about a late bid form Man City with the SWP money.
