It may be that you need to go through some sort of verification process. Go to Customer Support on menu bar at left hand side - then Cashier on right hand side of the next box to send email about deposit queries

Stars and Tilt especially are the hardest cash games on the net. Why anyone would play on them when there's plenty of 'easy' games on the net is beyond me!

I'm folding pre-flop, you've hit your ace on a very dry board and you've got no idea where you are.. You end up folding to a couple of c-bets.

The only flop I'd be happy with would include two nines.

With 3 people entering the pot before me i'd fold this pre too and wait for a better spot. As Oz says you have got no idea where you are in this hand.

If you are going to play it id raise after the flop instead of just calling all the way but just seems like leaking chips

Agree - the flop c-bet's very fishy (1/4 of the pot) but once LACRIMA calls I think it's spewy to raise.

Pre - fold
Flop - bet 900, fold to push
Turn/river - try and check it down, call min bet on river.

5-1 odds pre made me inclined to call/protect BB.
Once I make this bad call pre, like you say I have no idea where I am.
Can I afford to make a bet out on the flop to see where I am?

Chester

You're getting 5-1, but if you're not going to bet when you hit your A, I'm not sure what 5-1 flop you are hoping for?

Two pair - 48.5-1
Trips - 73-1

Quads?;)

I agree that the call pre was bad, loose at best.
The post action was very fishy though and if there was only one other caller after the flop I may have been inclined to raise to see where I was. Betting 900 and folding to a raise post flop doesn't look like a +EV move.

Moral of the story dont call raises pre with rag ace.

Not least everyone on here :D

Anyway, you can clearly play but you are one of those people who no one would go near with a barge pole because yo are so frustratingly blase about everything.

If you are going to make 10k before uni id love to follow it with graphs, updates etc. I think you could do it but not the way you are throwing money now despite your "bankroll management" skills

well im forced to start playing now cos i hit a massive brick wall with my other gambling habits and basically have to start from scratch. Had a long talk with ppl close to me about it and it won't be a problem anymore as i have ways around it and im sticking to poker only now. It will be a miracle if i can get my bankroll back up as quickly as i did about 3 weeks ago. It was a mad run from $2000 to $2000 in a month but my sick gambling streak ended that and im crippled with $1000ish left so im playing $20 games probs 8 tabling until i can start raising the stakes more. It will be the making of me and if i report back on here everyday about how im getting on i will be fine. and yeh ppl i know u all told me so!

no angry responses please im just looking at how im manning up now, and im going to prove it by turning my slim BR into hundreds of thousands.

Gonna be a late one for me. Still got 3 FullTilt games running.
I'll be sure to lay down when it comes around though.

Ant, we really arent trying to flame you here. We just want you to realise that you have gone about this all the wrong way.

There is hardly anyone who has built an instant bankroll and become a successful long term poker player. We all want you to do well but your ups are a couple of days and then you are telling us everything is rigged. Welcome to online poker.

Just check the graph i posted yesterday and tell me swings dont happen. You have been playing WAY to high for your bankroll and need to concentrate on improving your game not your balance.

Keep us posted as i enjoyed railing you tonight and think you can play but stop setting such silly lofted goals

:p

24-05-2008, 04:10 AM
i think lofty goals are fine if you have good bankroll management the whole way through, so i know what i need to get a day and thts roughly $100 for the beginning of the summer then about $200-$300 for the latter parts. If i aim for this without jeopordising my bankroll i feel its fine. Its sobering to have the money and to have lost it so i am even more determined than before and it will be a pleasure to post on here :)

I've been mulling this over all night and I think I should've folded the river lol!!

would have left me 350k/650k down roughly but given the strong likelihood he did have the 2 in what was a random hand after all I think I should have swallowed hard and waited for a better gamble

Its also occurred to me...and as someone has pointed out on P5s...I was probably only chopping with another 6 if he didnt have the 2 which makes it a definite fold imo

Sometimes, however much it hurts to know you may be getting bluffed off the second nuts, I guess you have to give it up

AA < K3
QQ < 67

and then this

Shouldn't really call the reraise on the river but he hits after calling with bottom pair 5 kicker on the flop ...

saul im shocked at ure play in the first example, u have to slow down after the turn becos he may have the three. Many of u may feel betting to see if he has it is good here but i dnt think so, u need to play the defensive from here on in and call raises by him instead of raising yourself. u raise on the river as well which is ok but when he min re raises u back u need to fold but agen u make the wrong move

I'm not playing for pot control with TPTK on that board against someone who could have anything. Barring specific reads I think Saul played it okay. The river raise makes me want to fold given that a minraise from a crap player is a sign of strength.

Without a doubt shove there. There are no draws on the board and i would be shocked if there wasnt an over pair there.

Normally what happens is the other person has A7 against me :D

If I flat does he not shove the turn?

Perhaps he does but he doesnt seem like the sharpest raising and folding almost half his stack. No need to give him a free card this early in the tourney

Can't win a race to save my life today. Lost tow massive ones with Jacks against AK and AQ in two seperate step 4's on the bubble.
Very frustrating, recommend them as a good entry route to the WSOP of LAPT events though, if you stay tight in the early stages untill your guarenteed at least a chance at the step below you can basically freeroll.

Thoughts on this one?
Villian is 28/27/2.6
I'd seen him three barrel plenty, do we let him go for it again?
The call pre-flop was because I'd 3 bet him about three times in a row and I got the feeling he might be getting sick of that...
Obviously very confident I have the best hand and am looking to draw out the maximum from him. Not sure if the long delays in betting meant something.

I would normally, only thing stopping me is I've never seen him not throw three barrels at a pot and I'm very confident he's drawing extremely thin.

I wouldnt be giving him free cards though - if he's that loose he'll call a raise rather than re-pop you anyway so just build the pot and let him come along for the ride if he wants is my approach there I thnk

For me it seems weird, if you win a bounty it is almost as though you are freerolling and lots of people who get it seem to play much more aggressive and accumulate chips.

Also, i have been lmao at the posts on the 2+2 thread.

especially the its not profitable to call any 2 cards post!

So your equity doesnt go up by knocking someone out especially considering his range is mahoosive at this point to pick up any chips he can

That's fine, there is obviously more than one way to play it but that is what I'd do a lot of the time.

To be honest, I think when he pushes all in, I should be out of there because I'm behind to a lot of hands but if you had prior notes on him being a poor player and prone to do this are you calling the bet especially after he only flat calls the bet after the flop?

Honest replies appreicated.

...and for what it's worth, I think my pre-flop bet and bet on the flop is good but I'm very curious about what you guys have to say about my play afterwards.

With a hand like this you can't slowplay, so we have to bet as you did. If he's loose/passive he's probably check/calling with quite a wide range of hands (probably any K, any J, QT, maybe a midrange pocket pair, maybe a 6 if he's a donk) but if he doesn't one of those hands then he's check/folding no matter what you do.

So really, to extract maximum value, you need to bet the maximum he will call when he has one of those hands - when he doesn't have one of those hands he's folding anyway and you can't let him 'catch up'. So I think the way to get max value here is actually to bet more like $3/$3.50 rather than making a smaller bet. This also has the advantage of making it incorrect for him to call if he does have a draw like QT, whereas if you bet $2 he can call profitably

I'd standardly raise a bit more preflop, maybe to around $5.50, to get more money in the pot with the best hand and to reduce implied odds for callers to try and setmine. I think your bet on the flop is fine, although maybe a bit much - generally it's good try and keep your bet amounts consistent and 2/3-3/4 of the pot is a good amount.

The turn seems a tough spot but generally I'm rarely folding Aces top kicker in a reraised pot. He could have JJ or AJ I suppose, but I don't think JJ would really check/call the flop and then shove like that after your pot-sized bet. We have a lot of $ invested in the pot, the board is drawy, we have top ace top kicker and Villain's play is "unconventional" ;) - I think it's right to call.

I'm having a quiet day today - been playing long hours of multi-tabling for a few days now and I think I am getting too tired to play my A game. I am going to play the Stars $100+9 at 6pm, ECOOP6 at 8 and maybe the $40k on FTilt and thats it for me today. It will be interesting to see if just 1 or 2 tabling leads to better results.

iamanuplander

i find cash a lot easier to multi table as its more to do with routines to a certain bet and ure plays are often quite set. IF your looking for a nice profit from all 8 tables being played. But with tournies tht are of a decent buy whereby the play is of a good standard. I always only try and play 2/3 max as u can get a feel for the table more and notice spots to re raise all in on a bluff if u know from previous activity the bloke is gonna fold. So bar bad beats Paul i say ure play will improve dramatically with the reduced amount of tables but thts dependent on how much u want to play well.

Here's a nice situation I've been in twice over the past week or so.

Out of position, hit the nut flush on the turn, get HU action against an unknown but quite sure he's a moron. I've been the aggressor on all streets.
The river card creates an ace high straight board.
Deep stacks and there are about 50BB's in the pot.

First to act, how much do we bet to get a call?

i might be opting for a check and hope he goes all in cos ppl do tht becos they think that the flush u hhave is unlikely, or u need to bet a 1/4 of the pot

Either check shove or I like to lead out just under a pot size bet depending on how the board reads. Give me an example OZ. The will call all day long with their straight regardless. You've been the aggressor on every street to build this pot so get some wedge in on 5th street imo.

See if you can work it out...

Probability of being dealt suited cards 23.5%
Probability of being dealt connecting cards 15.7%
Probability of flopping a flush, holding two suited cards .84%
Probability of flopping a straight flush 0.005102%

Have no idea if those numbers are correct, just found the stats doing a bit of a search...

I don't like checking against an unknown, there are quite a few buffoons on my list where this is a perfect move, though.

Only time I am checking on a made flush on the river is if I have been bet into or raised every street, want to bet at least half the pot on the river. Find a check on the turn will lead to a bet more likely being called on the river.

Both these flushes were made on the turn.
I fired out 3/4 pot bets and got called both times.

Would you risk your stack to possibly split a pot with a flush out there, though?
