Yes Im bored of it (fortunately). I think I only ever play it now when Palace are doing badly and I get frustrated. So I should plan for plenty of CM playing this year!

The birds eye view thing they might do really interests me though.

The birds eye view feature wont (possibly) be used until CM4 is out, in 2002. This seasons one will be simply an update of last seasons, with a few extra features. At least thats how i understand it. Mr. Nash will be able to tell you further as the lucky bugger is teatsing it. Oh no, hes not allowed to tell! :D

He will be able to tell us after its released (right?) But no one will be listening as we'll be too busy playing :D

If you are bored with it...try and find something to do with the 9 hours a day you spent playing it...that always makes me come back to CM with a fury!!!!....and like it too :)

not at all bored with it - even though I play other things to death and then get bored of them, CM is always there, like a faithful dog or a nasty rash.

Not bored - just having an extended break from it whilst the weather's been better.

Always return to it eventually, so will wait till the new season's underway before getting the latest player update and starting another game.

Manage a couple of teams at the same time makes it a bit more fun and also just wreck some good teams! ;)

I'm bored of it, i've been playing it 8 hours a day for the past 2 weeks !!!!

Well, thats a lie.. i am not bored of it. Everytime i play at (at the mo) it's different and i have new things to find, suggest and all sorts. So its fun.

Wait for the next game, it will get you all going again, trust me. But, get a faster computer :)

Or take a mediocre side in a top league and guide them to the top.

I was Atalanta and got them to 5th in Serie A! First season. Beat the likes of Champs Juve (who lost 2 all season), Parma twice, Fiorentina and Milan.. i was most chuffed :)

Got a tough second season ahead though

Bored no way. I am still addicted playing CM 00-01 v3.89. I have finally won the Champions League twice with the Palace which I could never do.

The game is just bloody great, totally addicted for now and ever ah men!!!

Um, didn't Atalanta finish 4th or 5th this season anyway? ;)

The worst thing about Champ Manager is the database. Its incredible how many players are in there but when they can't rate the English players right (i've found 37 year old conference players with Premiership ability ratings), you wonder if the bloke in charge of the database knows anything about football. Ruddock starts at 135 as does Pollock which is the rating for a very good premiership player...how long since they checked the ratings of so many players who will have improved/declined in the past 2-3 years? some players still have their stats from CM2, as a lot of the data was obviously ported across.

So you end up with Dwight Marshall, who must be retired by now, available on a free, signed by Charlton and scoring 25 in the Prem...he was never even that good in his prime, let alone now!

The game engine isn't as good as it should be either. Pack your cenre midfield, or play some one in the hole, and you will do better than you ever could with 4-4-2...using the 4-1-3-2 formation borders on cheating.

So yes, I am bored with it. I come back to it now and again only to be disappointed by its flaws. It's still the best, no other game is even worth playing, but with increased depth comes increased room for inaccuracy.

I agree. While the old versions had plenty of strange ratings, I feel they have neglected trying to improve this area in favor of global league expansion. I would have much preferred them to concentrate on quality rating than adding leagues from Singapore or whatever. Obviously though its better for them to market the game globally so thats why they do that I guess.

Some of the ratings make you wonder exactly who rated Palace players. Im not talking about giving Morrison 20 for shooting :) but things like Rodger getting 19 for pace/acceleration and Rubins 7 or something ridiculous.

I believe Atalanta finished more around 8th. But thats real life, they have a lot more than £6m to spend in reality !!

The database is done by researchers from the country they research. The attributes are that persons idea of how good the player is, but then it gets moderated. But then again, some players are randomly attributed.

It's often chance whether you get a crap conference player or a good one.

I am sure the new game will be more accurate ;)

its impossible to get bored of champ cos there are so many possibilties gameplay-wise. You just need some imagination. I always used to play as palace but got bored after 6 months or so heavy gaming so ive now decided to take uncle Rons Brentford to the Prem!

I have been, in the last 2 weeks: Spurs, AIK, Barcelona, River Plate, FC Twente, Atalanta, DC United and Wollongong Wolves (Aussie league).

Sad eh?

You better explain to 3000+ members why with all these teams you havent been Palace yet :grrr: ;)

Make that 2999+, Steve. I've never managed Palace in any version of CM. I prefer to work my way up from the lower leagues. Not quite managed to earn the Palace job yet.

Not bored.

In my 4th season with Wrexham. After 5 matches I am top of the Premiership...

BORO 3-1
Villa 1-0
MAN UTD 2-1
SUNDERLAND 3-0
Everton 1-1

Have a blinding player called Aragorn Appleboorn. He is English and I signed him from Tromsdalen in Norway for £50k.

After 63 goals in 93 matches from midfield, his value has shot to £5m. :)

Its obviously because i am not a good enough manager yet, i use those teams to build up my confidence and ability so i am ready to tackle the Palace job with the integrity and undertake the task to the best of my ability.

THAT'S the reason ;)
