Am I the only person who has never played Championship Manager?
(I use Ultimate Soccer Manager instead)

Was this the only question you could think of in your quest to see your name as the last poster in each forum? :o

Never played either! From what I've seen people get too obsessed with the games spending hours at a time.

I've played both. Ultimate Soccer Manager is fun because of all the non-footballing matters that you can deal with (i.e. food restuarants, betting, etc). The fact that there is an option to play music in the background keeps you more interested and you also get to watch the match which is good. I also like the way they make selecting something more interesting (i.e. to view the stats you go to the managers office and go on teletext, to see the match and season expectations you go to the chairmans office, to change ticket prices you go to the box office, etc); rather than in CM where there is just a boring menu.
However USM, although enjoyable, is unrealistic and too easy, CM has great detail and really concentrates on the football matters. Also when you get sacked, it isn't automatically game over and you can move clubs during the season and manage international teams. Personally I prefer CM because of its sheer detail and realism and in the long term it is a lot harder to master than USM. However, if they incorporated the enjoyability of USM with the detail and realism of CM, it would result in a classic game.

Haven't played either, keep looking longingly at CM when I walk past the games rack in Virgin,as a couple of mates of mine play it religiously.
Unfortunately neither of these guys can remember what their kids look like and their wives get excited when the milkman arrives every morning........
I think you get my drift.
