Bruce Dyer has been put on the transfer list by Barnsley...could this lead to a cut-price return to us?!

well, just cos he scores against us now, I still don't think his finishing is any good. He's strong, but should we really need to go back?
He might have become a northerner by now anyway!

If we could get him on the cheap it might be worth it - he'd certainly like to come back to London, but if we're talking any amount of money then I'd say forget it.

remember when he use to just stand there when he was knackerd then walk about a bit.
I would be surprised if Smith would sign Dyer, remember Smith wanted Dyer and Furlong and Noades got him Dyer (I think Smith prefered Furlong though). Then once Palace were in the Prem, Dyer made about 1 start all season and was definately out in the cold.
I remember someone else saying that either Smith was right about Dyer(that he (Dyer) was crap) or that Smith had made the biggest mis-judgement of his career!

Malakite put on the rose-tinted glasses and said:
he always used to give 110% u cant deny that.
Just one example - the cup-tie at Arsenal a few years ago. Hardly put in any effort all game and was out-worked by Tomas Brolin (of all people!).
Did nearly score the winner though that day.

No matter how bad Dyer played on certain occasions, he still scored (in this division) 15 plus goals a season. I'd like to see him back (on the cheap of course). And he doesn't DJ anymore. He was seen in South Croydon in the summer handing out leaflets for a local church, which was nice.

If one of you muppets says "If we get him on the cheap" again I fear I might burst a blood vessel. If he was free it would be too much. He was the worst striker Palace have had since Jerone Boere.
Look to the future boys and girls. Bruce Dyer will not get any better than he already is.
END OF.....NUFF SAID.

I used 2 hate Bruce. BUT
He scored goals. He missed a lot. But at least he will get shots on the goal. Remember WBA. NO SHOTS.
Bottom line is, he misses a lot but also gets his name of the scoresheet which we ain't doing at the mo, if his cheap, y not? It will save us £3m.

I will ignore this post as anyone who takes notice of stuff i've said in the past i am and was Bruce Dyers number one and only fan.
So u can guess that if we could get him for like the same we paid initicially (£1m or so) or less i would love to see him back.
BIG LETTER!

I can't deny he occasionally gave 110%, and I think I'm being generous.
If he ain't good enough for Barnsley, and a manager who knows him bloody well by now, then he ain't good enough for us;

I haven't seen it noticed but Dyer is availible at the end of the season on a Bosman as its he last year.
I'm sure we could use the money much better on someone else, besides he's lazy and runs like a girl.

you'll have the sexist squad on you too pal, besides... Bruce (great name should make him an honorary Australian) may run like a girl but he goes for the ball like a Tank. Who knows a few years away may have helped him mature and Barnsley is hardly the place to bring out the best in ANYONE!!
He'd have to be cheap too

3 cruel jokes to play on your kids:
1) "You're not getting any Christmas presents this year."
2) "You're not getting any Birthday presents this year."
3) "Do you remember Bruce Dyer son? Well he's coming back to Palace."
Can't see it happening, Smith can't be that stupid twice, can he?

As said previously and will no doubt be said again, we surely can find something better than Dyer to spend our money on. Realistically we need a striker NOW, but we have the money not to just buy anyone cheap but to look around for a good buy.

Barnsley have agreed a 300,000 pound fee with Gillingham for Dyer. At least one Goldberg sale we made a profit from then !

As a suppoerter in the Holmesdale Lower Tier I for one am pleased that we will not be getting Dyer back...I for one could not afford the expensive reconstructive surgery needed should one of his many wayward blasts hit me in the mooey.

Look ahead. We need players capable of doing it in the premiership. Dyer is an adequate 1st division stiker and little more. He was good with his elbows, and was the only striker we had for a while in the prem (hardly his fault I know) but let us face it he does not have the all round ability to be any more than adequate.
CPFC Cheerleader Observer

If we are willing to Pay £3M For Beattie (Apparently,) Then we can definately afford to buy a better striker than Dyer.
To agree with others, if we're gonna pay that sort of money, then we need someone who can also do it in the Premiership aswell as DIV 1. A player for the future aswell as now.

We do not want Dyer back under any circustances - not even if all our strikers were injured for the rest of the season. I would rather have Gregg or Taylor up front than have HIM return.
Palace must look forward - to resign Bruce would be a HUGE step back.
