These are the 8 I've written down - strongest fancies marked with an * - the others are more speculative. Careful though - how many of us hit big two days running?

I looked at the kempton card today as follows:

1st race - Mossgo
2nd - Fallen for you
3rd - Saamid
4th - Thimaar
5th - Gusto
6th - George Baker

All the other cards, i don't know too much about tbh.

Don't like the going at Pontefract and some of my selections are too short now so I've just done the one value bet on:

Still like Edmaaj, Gusto and Swingland but they're all way too short now.

Ouch! Just two out of eight for me today - wouldn't be so bad ordinarily but feels like a bit of a damp squib after yesterday.

The 7 changes the RSPCA want for the national next year ...

The RSPCA had a former jump jockey stationed near Becher's Brook at this year's race, who contributed to its seven point report which is calling for:

• Reduction of the number of starters and restriction of the race to experienced horses and jockeys.

• Removal of Becher's Brook.

• Re-design of the core of fences.

• Levelling of drop landings on fences.

• Changing the start.

• Horses that bolt and unseat jockeys to be automatically withdrawn.

• Positioning of horse catchers and communications to be urgently reviewed.

Kentucky Derby this weekend. I liked Daddy Long Legs (off that UAE Derby) and Take Charge Indy (always love sons of AP Indy). But they've been drawn posts 1 and 3 respectively which have been death recently at the Derby.

Triple odds on Mercers Row gets me most of my money back - if there was one thing I was reasonably sure of today it was that that one would beat Boucher Garcon at the revised weights.

Pretty rubbish racing tomorrow, by the looks of it.

I'm still keeping meticulous records of all stakes and returns by the way chaps. After my recent successes I am £609 up since 1/6/2011. :)

Some brilliant races tomorrow, although finding winners will obviously be tough.

Looking at these at the moment:

2.30 Masked Marvel (St Leger winner - might not run depending on the ground)
3.10 Power (way too big a price compared to his stablemate)
3.45 Temple Meads (wonder whether it retains that frightening pace?)

4.55 Newmarket Noblie Mission @ 3.15

Related to Frankel, second on debut and won well on reappearance, Al Zarooni's is favourite here, can't have any of his horses and he's good enough to win a listed race you would have thought.

BODEMEISTER should have won the Kentucky derby, Mike Smith gave it a shocker from the front, god knows how the horse kept going to get 2nd/3rd, gave it such a hard ride, 5 fastest splits in history says it all.

I have backed horses today at 13/8, 6/4, 2/1, 6/4, 8/11, 6/4 and 7/4 and all have lost. Only 1 of them managed a place.

What a sh*t couple of days, I have done my bollox.

Have got Deia Sunrise in the last and even if it wins it doesn't get me out of trouble

That is a lot of bets for one day.

Are you betting because you really fancy them,or just for the sake of having a bet?
If it is the latter then you may want to review your betting strategy.

Will have a little pop on Ile De Re at 25/1 tomorrow in the Chester Cup - worth a punt on the hope he will improve for the switch to McCain like most horses do!

You sound like LLCOOL, NO1.

Alpha Tauri had won only 3 races before today, all of them over course and distance. Was 10lbs better off with Ace Of Spies having beaten him 2 runs back. Cannot believe I got 7/1 against it. :)

To be honest I didn't give the race a proper look but saw that ace of spies was much better of at the weights for a neck defeat to the fav and based it purely on that. Bit naive really but 14/1 looked massive at first glance in retrospect it wasn't

I had the same thoughts NO1 - just spent a bit longer looking at it. Went off the fav when I decided it couldn't beat Ace Of Spies and then couldn't believe my luck that no one appeared to be noticing that Ace Of Spies couldn't beat Alpha Tauri at the weights.

It was a bonus when I saw that all of Alpha Tauri's previous wins were over course and distance. :p

That's one thing to be said for Southwell - course form is worth an awful lot there.

If Starspangledbanner comes back into training I will be so happy - one of my favourite horses and probably gave me one of my top 3 wins on horses in the Jubilee Stakes in 2010, I love the thing :lux: I'm sure Bigtoe does too :p

Will obviously have a saver to cover my bets on Borderlescott just in case though I can't see him being competitive today. He doesn't have a good draw and doesn't tend to run right up with the pace - not sure he could do at his age!

Might also have an interest in course specialist General Tufto in the 2.55 at Southwell - looks value at 6/1 to me.

Arvika Legionairre off for 2 years looked a great prospect in that beginner's chase.

At work today, listened to timeform radio and when I heard it was a flag start backed il de re and overturn in win and place market also had subarat- Overturn has to be one of my favourite horses, brings back memories of Sea Pigeon and Night Nurse

Finished the afternoon comfortably ahead thanks to Ile De Re and Rosslyn Castle (who looked very impressive, by the way).

Just a shame old Borderlescott got chinned close home - would have been the icing on the cake if he had won.

Just before the race, only heard it because of timeform radio - was on sabaat or whatever it was called, but when I heard it was a flag start I jumped on the hurdlers Overturn and Il de re on the basis they were used to it.

That is what I do , but listening to Timeform radio today they also said that the draw can be negated when very wet as the other side which never gets run on normally starts to get used, so didn't lay except Rooney's horse in the place market in the opener

Nothing much tomorrow value wise. Absinthe is another interesting runner for McCain but is only 11/2. Two other horses who interest me after winning last time out are Model Pupil and Jack Dexter, had hoped for far bigger prices on the both of them though, currently 5/1 and 13/2.

Fancy quite a few tomorrow although you're right, there won't be any huge prices on offer by the looks of it.

Really sweet on a couple at Goodwood too.

I agree - pretty poor form really.

Having said that, it's not just the draw is it - the horse needs to start quickly and take advantage of it - I was looking for horses that had good draws and tended to race up with the pace, but a couple of mine were slow away and lost pretty much all chance early on, despite good draws.

I know you two like Slewtoo, but perfect fantasy looks a nice prospect to me, won its maiden first time on the track over 6 furlongs, step up in trip should suit, front two when it won were 5 lengths clear, and then horse it beat by a short head has won a handicap off 70 by 8 lengths recentley! Nice price about 8/1 ish
