Easily the most consistent jockey around at the moment.

JamTheEagle
12-07-2012, 07:03 PM
Fiorente, for example, has just had a nearly 15-length turnaround with Red Cadeaux from their last run.

What chance have you got?

Doesn't help when two horses and jockeys decided to slit each others throats.

I'd happily help some of them out with that at the moment.

Ryan Moore is a woeful rider. If i see him on a horse, i look away very quickly. He is so unpredictable
Tell me that's a joke - think he and Buick are great and difficult to tell them apart

I think there's a strong argument to say that Buick is the best jockey around at the moment. Moore I can take or leave - never have much luck with his rides.

Yea I think it will get pulled though which should make it easier to decide!

Other horses for me are Ancient Cross, Maureen and Rebellious Guest.

No serious, i don't like Ryan Moore. William Buick is a top Jockey and is showing that this season.

Ryan moore had a selection of rides yesterday:

1st at newmarket - 15/8f and finished 5 of 6
2nd at newmarket - 15/8f and finished 4 of 7
3rd at newmarket - 12/1 and won
4th at newmarket - 11/2 and won
5th at newmarket - 10/1 nowhere
6th at newmarket - 6/1 5 of 6
7th at newmarket - 9/1 6 of 15

All be it that the above rides aren't that bad, he just lacks consistency for me. Sorry if not of your opinion but i think its because he rarely wins on the favourites.

Might do these today:

Need to have a better look at the form later though.

If that doesn't tell you to look for value nothing will. Buick is my favourite jockey but I'd have to say that Moore is far more the consistent jockey.

Newm 1.20 Tartiflette

Also did a small Lucky15 on these:

Newm 2.25 Jadanna
York 3.45 A Boy Named Suzi
York 5.30 Dutch Rose

4th, 3rd, 2nd so far.

And at 14/1, A boy Named Suzi gets beat by an old favourite of mine at 16/1.

Shit out of luck. :(

Gooders
13-07-2012, 04:55 PM
Stands to reason that the 4th horse in that bet finished first.

Still, Ryan Moore did me a favour on Jack's Revenge and I ended up with a profit on the day, which is something.

Despite always being useless on Saturdays, I've done these two bets tomorrow:

Ardmay 1.40 Newmarket
Crackentorp 2.25 York
Definightly 3.10 Newbury
Hototo 3.50 Newbury

Excellent Guest 2.40 Newmarket
Prince Of Johanne 3.00 York
Caledonia Lady 3.35 York
Orsippus 4.45 York

Had shrapnel on Reply in the July Cup, just for a bit of interest.

JamTheEagle
13-07-2012, 10:06 PM
Reply is an interesting runner but I can't stop coming back to Sepoy - has one four Groups 1s (one on soft) and has been the highest rated in the field, he is 9/1 and will be retired after this - that is a cracking price.

I like Libranno but don't think he is a Group 1 animal, possibly Group 2 at a push so I will leave it tomorrow but might have to have some shrapnel on it to avoid being red faced.

Excellent Guest was my selection but think it might be too soft for him if there is more rain coming, apparently it is tipping it down near HQ.

Been tipping it down here too - if it's like this elsewhere there'll be meetings cancelled.

I don't fancy anything in the July Cup so just decided to stick the shrapnel in my pocket on the horse that would annoy me the most if it won without me being on, and that was Reply. :)

I think some areas might be sold out already DBS. The Goodwood website is pretty good for info.

We go to the Lennox Enclosure where you can pay on the day. It's the cheapest spot but it's about 2 furlongs from the finish.

That probably sounds like a bad move but in fact when I've been near the winning line at Goodwood I've found that you can't actually see all that much (other than when I went on a corporate gig up on the roof, which was brilliant - but I wasn't paying). :)

I find it more exciting in the Lennox because the runners go past just as the race is really unfolding in earnest - you can't see what happens at the finish though so you have to watch the big screen for that.

Been a long time since I have been, the last time I went to goodwood racing was the day of the void race fiasco involving Mtoto I think.

Gooders,do you know if when in the Lennox you can see the horses in the parade ring? If not I would be tempted by the Gordon enclosure.
I would like to see Frankel close up in the flesh as well as seeing him race.

Pretty sure you can't Mart.

I love Sandown for the parade ring - just pop through from one side of the Grandstand to the other. I think at Goodwood you would need to be in one of the more expensive locations, yes.

DBS - I wouldn't think it was possible to sell out the Lennox Enclosure - if it got really, really busy you'd just end up at the 3 furlong pole instead!

It's never been that packed when I've been there. Not that many on-course bookies to bet with in the Lennox but seeing as how they're all linked by computer these days, it doesn't make any difference.
