When Brian Lara made his record 400, Ridley Jacobs also got a century so that makes five in one innings.

There were also 5 centuries in the innings that Garfield Sobers scored his record 365 and in the match where Len Hutton scored 364 (England v Australia 1938 England won by an innings and 579 runs. Happy days :p )

Sri Lanka v India 1997

Good work!!

There were a couple not so long ago involving Bangladesh where (India or Pakistan - not sure which) 6 of the first seven bats scored tons!

Best I've found for individual centurions is this

Pakistan v Bangladesh, 2001

Pakistan 1st innings
Saeed Anwar c Hasibul Hossain b Mohammad Sharif 101
Taufeeq Umar c Khaled Mashud b Hasibul Hossain 104
Faisal Iqbal b Mohammad Sharif 9
Inzamam-ul-Haq retired hurt 105
Mohammad Yousuf not out 102
Abdul Razzaq not out 110

The reason I remember that one is that I'm pretty sure on the same day Sri Lanka had four centurions in an innings v India, and 9 Test centurions in one day was a record...or something liek that anyway.

Did they all get themselves out once they got a ton. Inzaman retured hurt my arse, retired fat more like. "that's enough waddling for one day boys".

I have always found it odd that one of the best batsmen of the modern age gets so much stick.

Not entirely relevant to the topic as it isn't a record, but I remember three England centurions in the 2nd test at Perth in 1986 (Broad, Gower and Richards I believe).
