Indeed. My only real sadness is that he was a Godless Communist right to the end so I just hope he is somewhere smashing and pleased about how wrong he was. :(

But he was 91, had led a full life and his wife had died 18 months ago so he had been lonely. And he died surrounded by those who loved him so I guess, on balance, if you have to pick a way to go that is it.

Whisky shouldn't be mixed, except with maybe a dash of water if they whisky is cask strength. The only reason whiskys like Bells are mixed is to disguise their vile taste. Most Supermarkets have at least one Single Malt on special offer at any one time that is only a quid or two more expensive that Bells so there's no excuse really.

I am rather partial to a Whisky and ginger myself though but I do know that single malts should never be used for such a thing.

Me and Tariq used to get shit faced watching Dallas whilst drinking W&G and dreaming of being apprentices to JR.

Not too bad, not too much help though either :D

My problem with it is that I've got to read through so much crap to try to get some decent sources and then fit it all into an essay. I've currently got about two authors who comment on the subject, because most authors discuss whether the Englightenment caused the revolution, rather than whether it reflected the Enlightenment or not. I think I'm eventually going to twist the question into being about whether it was the cause.

I've given up temporarily, as me being on the BBS testifies.

Bloody Hell, haven't even got alll mine yet, no wrapping, no tape, I am sooo behind! Ordered the trees though :)

So, as nothing to wrap I will have to go out instead. Friday night on the town.

What to wear, that really is a chore choosing. Might have to be black/white layered frock and black heels. Had my hair done so that's another chore out of the way. Nails done, red tonight so wearing purple is out of the question.

For once rather sad at being in on a Friday night. I should be at my wayward Uncles 60th birthday party which will be a right old jolly but due to my little boy being ill with a cold I have had to stay in and look after him whilst my wife and daughter go to the School Christmas fair.

Mat, if you have any rum, mix that with the ginger beer. It's called a Dark 'n' Stormy and is the drink of choice for Bermudians.

Nope. Not going down that route again. Only ever used, out of desperation, Ginger beer as a mixer once before and that was to add to some Pear Brandy that a friend had bought me back from the Balkans with the assertion that it was the favourite brand of Milosevic (Serbian leader who died whilst on trial for war crimes ).

When I make it, I cook all the stuff first. Cook the pasta and lay it out on kitchen roll, cook the meat or vegetables and drain off most of the juices.

Layer the lasagne up, then put it in the fridge. It sort of sets it, so when you cook it the next day and you should find it won't go all sloppy and mushy.

Make a normal tomato/meat sauce with whatever veggies you want to use.

put that as first layer, followed by lasagne 'plates'

pour mornay sauce over the lasagne

repeat

repat again ( if the bowl is deep enough )

top with bacon rashers

half way through cooking cheese and tomato slices.

You cannot go wrong -- mornay sauce i'm telling ya'.

I've made it with layers of different peppers with courgette and it's lovely.

Using seafood is really nice, too, but not with cheese. I just use seafood with a few different bits of fish and dill, and use plain bechamel sauce with a splash of white wine added to it.

Her sister died 6 months ago and i ran into her and spoke to her family then i went out for a friends birthday. Ran into someone i hadnt seen in years and boom he drops it.

I even missed her funeral, feel pretty stupid.

Its horrid not to be able to say goodbye. This sounds morbid but was she cremated - if so are they putting the ashes with a plaque somewhere? If so - you could go visit and use that to say your love and farewell.

I don't think divorce is that bad a thing. My parents' divorce really has affected me very little, except I'd be colossally rich if I lived with my dad. My sister on the other hand is very effected by it. But divorce can be the right thing in so many ways. Especially with no kids involved.

Drove back from a week in the West Country today, still suffering from the effects of Flu.

My wife has also had it, our symptoms have been completely in tandem from the middle of the week - and our two year old has Chicken Pox in addition to her canines and last molar teeth deciding to make a break for the surface at the worst possible moment. Wednesday night was pure hell.

So, all in all, I feel worse than I did before I went away. I'm just hoping that little 'un doesn't get flu on top of the chicken pox, and these extremely painful ulcers on my tongue and throat clear off quickly.

Thank God i'm back at work on Monday :D

Just getting the kids off to bed then its finishing off the last Rebus novel with perhaps a sparkling glass of London Pride and then falling asleep in front of some worthy foreign film (non Pafish) with subtitles.

I feel really quite rank and would love to go bed but I have to wait up until 12to get myself into a local nightclub, where I recently left my coat. It will be the last chance I have to get it back before Christmas.

I'd rather help Billie with the 19% thing than look at Janine's ugly boat.

Peter is a good name. Except on this site where it is used as some weird, in-joke type of insult which I don't know and don't want to know.
