Anyone else going to watch the palace friendlies in Spain in July?

I understand Malaga is expecting us.

Everyone's mentioning bits but I don't think anyone's actually started getting any concrete info on places, travel, etc. If we ask lightweight to do this guess how many words her reply will contain http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

I'm up for it, sounds like a laugh following Palace round Southern Spain, having a few beers and all the rest. Be extra good if it coincides with my birthday.

http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif only info most people have asked me for at the moment is when it is - several other people seem to be doing some ferretting round looking at flights / accomodation etc.

Definitely want to go one way or another!!!

Who are we playing and when? As I'm certainly up for it! I remember going to Italy in 1990 and seeing us beat Sampdoria in a penalty shoot-out (Rudi hedman scoring the winning penalty!)

They are both off, but the club are trying to get new opposition to play on those two dates. Athletico Madrid have been mentioned ...

Maybe you shouldn't trust those sources http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/wink.gif .. those games were rumoured to be off some while ago.

Must be someone dodgy m'dear - I heard at least three weeks back from similar sources that the fixtures were likely to be changed !

Simon Jordan was in Spain whilst the rest of the team were in Bastia trying to arrange games. According to Vic the kit man, the team would be going out regardless even if only for a training camp, but hopefully for some games.

I was pissed, so maybe Neil has a better recollection than me.

I've already posted what I know ... but yesterday I've used that e-mail the Chairman thingy on the Palace website to ask what the latest state of play is... I'll post a reply when I get one.

Perhaps if a few more did the same, Mr Jordan will realise that there are quite a few people interested in this trip.

Off you go then - you suggested it. I see you're being your usual charming and cheerful self as per normal http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/eek.gif

Actually I seem to remember that certain people never used to do pre-season games http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Alan Smith has spotted some great talent there. I expect one or two signings to give our team stability.

Here's Mr Jordan's answer:

Cannot play Spanish teams Neil due to their end of season break sounds more
like the mentality of Siesta or Manyana senor to me, but Jesus Gill who is
mayor of Marbella and owns Athletico Madrid is a friend of mine and he tried
to help I will be in spain in May and will be organizing the accomodation
and opposition perhaps a English club, we are more interested in the
training environment than a game, the primary reason for any games is to
break up the trip, the details of games will be posted on WWW.CPFc.co.uk (http://WWW.CPFc.co.uk)

I'd love to go but seeing as my mum is Swiss and we have a house out there and none of my family are footie fans and i'm a poor student saving up and it would take ages to organise etc etc and ii doubt my mates would come!

DAMM! Try to go to England pre seasons though

I was about to say Paf - at the rate things are progressing - if there ARE any games - it's liable to be last minute before we find out again !

Arse! Had already booked the time off in anticipation og going to watch them play.

"Actually I seem to remember that certain people never used to do pre-season games "

I also recall that a certain person never used to drink before games either, but does it really matter anymore?
